15 ROUND KNOCK OUT

GREATEST SHOOTOUT GOAL SO FAR.

What an amazing win by the Rangers in a 15 round shoot out against Washington. Malik put’s in a highlight goal more amazing then any of Crosby’s goals so far.

After watching this shootout, it truly has shown why it might save hockey. The most exciting thing in the NHL is shootout hockey, and so far… Malk’s goal is the best ever to be scored in a NHL shootout.

What other’s are up there?

Loonisizm with Leafy: This and that Edition

Is Dick Pound accurate? Or is he blowing smoke? Trade rumors, fact or fiction? Refs favoring home teams? CuJo the best goalie in hockey? My Olympic team, and Wayne Primeau… a hell of a guy.

Toronto to swap with San Jose

It is no secret that San Jose is in desperate need of scoring and the GM is close to pulling the trigger on a trade to address that need. It has been previously reported that Martin Havlat was on his way to San Jose, but coach Brian Murray and GM John Muckler have quickly dissmissed those rumors saying they are very content with their team as of late and do not want to disrupt team chemistry.

Quarter-Point Awards

Here are my quarter-of-the-season point NHL Awards:

Sophomore Jinx or Lucky Rookie Year?

The Boston Bruins, picked by many to be one of the top teams in the tough Eastern Conference, have been in a major tailspin over the past 10 games and don’t appear to be coming out any time soon, regardless of their recent 5-1 victory over the Maple Leafs.

Bargain Basement Beauties

Here are Pat Hickey’s (Montreal Gazette) ten best bargains in the NHL, value for the buck, in no particular order;

Latest on Luongo

Spectors hockey and Mojo radio (in Vancouver) report that Mike Keenan was at a recent Canucks game. Nonis denies the rumors of moving star players…

Guys who don't belong in the NHL

Did anyone catch what the motivation for Fedorek’s hit on Nedved was? Who did he say he had a problem with?? Was it Nedved??? I need a platform to get this off my chest and to see how others feel about this problem. Last night I was at the Coyotes/Anaheim game. Good game. Probably the most hits I’ve seen in one game this season. My problem comes with the Fedorek hit and his motivation behind it. Let me explain…

Sharks Hunting Havlat?

According to the Ottawa Sun the sharks were interested in Martin Havlat a month ago. their have been rumours that Muckler does not like Havlat especially after the kicking incident but he knows that he is a very important part of the club, but Muckler says he will not trade any time soon, atleast not till after christmas. but ever since Havlat was suspended that sharks seemed to be less interested.

1 QUARTER DOWN AND KINGS DOMINATING

The 2005-06 season is 1 quarter over and the LA Kings are 1st in a very tight Pacific division and 2nd in the Western Conference (one point behind 1st place Detroit). What is the reason behind the LA Kings success?

Blackhawks coach might be responsible for team's poor performances.

I’m not and have never been a Chicago Blackhawks fan but what got me thinking about this article was that I picked Tyler Arnason in one hockey pool. He’s having a slow start as well as the team so it got me wondering why there weren’t any guys making points at all in this team…

Sykora's bill too much for Anaheim

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks are reportedly shopping RW Petr Sykora. Sportsnet reported last night that GM Brian Burke did not rule out Sykora’s availability and what fuels the rumor even more is that Sykora is not in the Ducks line-up tonight against the Coyotes. There are no teams rumored to be interested as of now which leads me to believe he may just be a healthy scratch. But with Getzlaf and Perry sent to the AHL yesterday, this story is heating up quickly that a deal could be done or close to it.

Too Much Depth?

With a month to go before decision time which players will be able to play their way onto the team, which ones will play their way off of it and who`s a lock? Injuries are as of yet not a major problem, but a month could change that. Long story short, who`s going to make up Team Canada for the 2006 Games?
