Morrison for Seabrook?

Rumors have come out this weekend that the Chicago Blackhawks are shopping defenseman Brent Seabrook. The name from the Canucks end would be Brendan Morrison. I don’t see the Canucks making this move unless they are talking to another free agent centers. The most likely that pops into my head is Jason Allison. He is a big bodied guy that can move the puck, and would really give their power play a boost. This would also give Chicago a ceter to play with Martin Havlat. I think this would be a good deal for both teams but I dont see Chicago making that deal unless someone else is packaged with Morrison.

NHL On Google

I read this on a canadian news website which i can’t remember. This text comes from NHL.com but basically states the same thing. That we can now watch FULL NHL games on google (starting from late October) for all 30 teams! It’s easy and simple…the only negative is that its on a 2-3day delay (due to TV rights) but i say thats a small price to pay for all the leagues games on google.

The NHL has introduced the Mark Messier Award, to be presented monthly to a player who best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice.  A leader-of-the-year award will also be presented at the end of the year.

Magnitogorsk can not stop Malkin. Judge allowes him to play.

On Monday, the preliminary injunction filed by Metallurg Magnitogorsk to stop Evgeni Malkin from playing in the NHL, was denied in New York’s Federal Court. This case is “always about money. The only question was how much,” said Judge Loretta Preska, ruling from the bench, in denying the request from Metallurg Magnitogorsk’s lawyers.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Rene Bourque is expected to miss three to six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a deep laceration on his neck.

Bourque was injured Sunday night in Chicago’s 1-0 win over Columbus when he was cut in the neck by the skate blade of Blue Jackets’ right wing Nikolai Zherdev’s during a pileup in the Blackhawks’ crease.

Bourque was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital where he had surgery. The team said he might be released Monday or Tuesday.

The second-year player has four goals and four assists in 16 games.

Willie Mitchell will be back in the lineup for the Canucks tonight. They have really missed his first pass and his leadership qualities. I think this is a guy that needs to grab the team by the b****. With that said, there is talk of Naslund being traded again. I love Naslund as a player, but as a captian he just doesnt fit with the new Canucks team.
