Emery injured??!!!!

According to TSN, Ottawa goalie Ray Emery has suffered a wrist injury earlier Tuesday during practice. Apparently it may be serious….

Ottawa, and Tampa swaping players?

I’ve heard a rumor that Ottawa, and Tampa might make a deal.

MacInnis named Blues VP

Former St. Louis Blues defenseman Al MacInnis was hired Tuesday to be the team’s vice president of hockey operations.

MacInnis ranks third among NHL defensemen with 340 career goals and 1,274 points in 23 seasons.

”The Bruins have assigned goaltender Hannu Toivonen to the minors. No goalie has been recalled, prompting speculation that Boston is close to acquiring netminder Evgeni Nabokov from the San Jose Sharks.”

According to this article from the canadiens team page : http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect.cfm?sectionID=habsNewsDetails.cfm&newsItemID=5323, the canadiens leading scorer will be out for 6 weeks with a sprained ankle.

Roloson and Company Still at it

According to Darren Dreger at TSN, Dwayne Roloson has recently sent out a letter to the players requesting that they send $3-5k to assist in the further invsestigation of Saskin and his rise to power.

He further states that Chelios, Trent Klatt and himself (Roloson) have personally spent $100k to date on this investigation.

Alfredsson for Regehr (e2)?

The ever so “reliable” Eklund is reporting that Calgary and Ottawa are in talks
to make a huge deal, here it is:

Coyotes looking for Goaltender

Sources confirmed the Coyotes are getting serious about trading for goaltending help and have discussed possible deals with Buffalo and San Jose.

Former 'Canes star Ron Francis joins club as director of player development

Former Carolina captain Ron Francis is joining the Hurricanes front office.

The team named him director of player development Friday.

Francis, the NHL’s second all-time leading scorer, will work with and assess players in the club’s system and report to director of pro scouting Marshall Johnston.

Toronto's tough guy

Every team needs a guy who will defend his team, a guy who can change the pace of a game with a fight. For many years the leafs had Tucker and Domi. Now Tucker is a goal scorer, and Domi is a TSN broadcaster. So where do the Leafs get their toughness from?

Morrison on the block?

Reports are that Canuck forward Brendan Morrison is on the trading block. There has been talk that Ottawa has been courting offers and would most likely send a defenseman the other way. This would be a dumb move because the Canucks can ill afford to give up a top six forward when they really are lacking in that area.

Canadian Provincial Tourney

Like the bored rich nerd I am, I took Guy Bertrand’s idea and ran with it.

I jotted down names of players from each Province and made up Teams that could play in not the World Championships, but a Cross Canada Tournement of Fun and Supremacy.

What would it take to acquire Lecavalier ?

This is no secret several teams who were hoping for a better start this season are looking to shake things up by completing big trades.
