SUNDIN is Truly Dominant

Hard to believe after all these years playing in the Toronto market this guy, I think, is still not getting the respect he deserves. It became very clear after watching last nights game against the Islanders this guy is on a mission and is one of the best in the league. He is the face of the Leafs and without him they have no identity. Yes he is in the twilight of his career but he is still in great shape and is out-performing his teamates and most players in the NHL.

It appears that Shane Doan is close to signing an extention with the Phoenix Coyotes. So now who is the big gun that the Habs are going to be after, besides Forsberg?

Deja Vu from 91-92?

In case you’ve been under a rock these past three weeks, the hottest team in hockey has been the Steel City’s own Pittsburgh Penguins. During this current tear, they have won emotional overtime games against Toronto and Montreal, but most impressively dispatched one of the top teams in the league, Nashville, 4-1.

As it stands, the pens are in fourth in the Eastern conference and currently are not guarenteed anything. The ninth place team is only 5 or 6 points back and if the Pens inconsistency flares up again, the season maybe doomed.

Why the Maple Leafs should trade Alex Steen

I am so damned tired of everyone and their worship of Alex Steen, the most over rated prospect in the history of the Maple Leafs.

The Northwest Division

Calgary has made their moves while the other 4 teams have been sitting on their hands. What do the other teams need to remain in the mix?

Ozolinsh problematic for Rangers

According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post the large contract of Sandis Ozolinsh has become quite problematic for the New York Rangers. Brooks suggest that Gen Sather has a variety of different options for Ozolinsh that include sending him to the minors to avoid the cap crunch.

Talk In Oil Country

I was watching CTV news today and they had interviewed Kevin Lowe about whats happing with the Oilers trading.

Samsonov to Edmonton?

Not a chance! Local Edmonton newspaper states Kevin Lowe says he wants nothing to do with Sergei Samsonov. Maybe the Habs should try and talk with the Blue Jackets if they intend on keeping Samsonov and Kovalev. Certainly something needs to be done here. Go Habs Go!

Let face reality Leaf fans!

Ok Leaf fans,

We have to come to accept the possibility that John Ferguson may NOT pull the trigger this year.
With the Leafs recent play its very probable that the Leafs may make the playoffs but may not have what it takes to go all the way.

Hawks getting ready to sell????

The Chicago-Sun Times speculates that the Black Hawks may be looking to deal some of their veteran players prior to the deadline. Some of the names mentioned include Bryan Smolinski, Martin Lapointe, Adrian Aucoin and Jassen Cullimore.

Zherdev on thin ice in Columbus??

While not specifically a trade rumor Nikolai Zherdev was recently kicked off the ice during practice for an apparent lack of effort. It is well known that the talented Zherdev has been on thin ice this year in part due to his contract dispute this past off season.

Doan Coming to Montreal????

According to hockeybuzz.com Montreal is the leader in the Doan sweepstakes. Calgary is also pushing for Doan but Montreal has much more to offer. Hopefully Gainey gets off his ass and doesnt let this one slip away.

Roberts and Bertuzzi to Toronto?

According to Eklund on hockeybuzz.com both Bertuzzi and Roberts may be headed to Toronto sooner than later.
