Habs and ther fans

Since I began submitting my thoughts on the Habs on this site, i have come to realize just how ignorant Canadiens fans are. We demand too much from our best and when they don’t perform, we demand they get traded. Everyone’s drooling at the prospect of having Marleau or Briere but i guarantee that if one of them does become a Hab, once they go through a slight slump, every single person on this site will demand they get traded and demand Gainey’s head.

Continued Speculation from Philly

Now that the NHL draft is over the is reporting that the Flyers have put themselves in a great position cap wise to make a run at either Scott Gomez, Chris Drury or Daniel Briere.

Smyth's rights for sale?

Islanders general manager Garth Snow has a bit of a problem here. Getting Smyth signed is a priority in the GM’s office. Smyth, however, has earned his position as a soon-to-be unrestricted free agent and Snow is not entirely confident he will be able to get a deal done.

Western Conference Second Tier UFA's

Last week i made an article of the following second tier Eastern Conference UFA’s who are hitting the market a week from today and where they could possibly end up this summer. The reason in why i am doing this is simply because we as fans are hearing the same names over and over again with the likes of Smyth, Briere, Drury, Gomez, Forsberg and so on. This week will be the Western Conference.

What's next for Habs

Draft is done and the spectacular blockbuster involving Marleau didn’t happen. Some say it’s because the Sharks want to make sure they will get Drury others say it’s simply because Marleau isn’t going anywhere.

Senators Speculation

Now that the draft and long playoff run is over in Ottawa the Senators are looking to assess their situation for the future. Reports from the Ottawa Sun indicate that the Senators are looking to move Gerber (old news) and deal another forward.

Red Wings have many decisions to make

The Detroit Free Press is speculating that the Detroit Red Wings may have a better chance to sign Bertuzzi than Schneider. Schneider who has had several solid years on defense for the Wings may be in for a huge raise due to the fact that the Flyers signed Timonen to a huge money deal.

Fergusons decision making

John Ferguson had a choice on draft day. Actually he had a lot of choices. Did he make the right one?

Ducks and Penguins trade centers

On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired center Tim Brent from the Stanley Cup champions Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Pittsburgh’s Stephen Dixon.

NHL GM'S Build Russian Defense System?

Sorry to break all the excitement involved with the second draft day and all but something about yesterday’s first round caught mine and probably everybody else’s attention… wow how bout those “new” Columbus jersey’s? Just kidding. How on earth did Alexei Cherepanov drop to 17th!!
After all wasn’t he projected to go by 5th pick if not in the top 3? Many point to lack of a NHL-Russian international league agreement, however I don’t quite agree with that.

Habs Send Leighton To Carolina

The Montreal Canadiens trade Michale Leighton to Carolina For A 7th Round pick in 2007 draft. This is the 5th club in 2 years for the netminder.
