I know, you’re probably thinking “Another Leafs article”, but none of those articles are ever about anything. They are just repetitive rants about different line combinations, or unrealistic advice to GM John Ferguson. So I thought I’d write the truth, something that wouldn’t get Leafs fans made fun of…

Team By Team Analysis Through October 25, 2007

So far the 2007-08 NHL season has been quite surprising through the first 8-10 games. Just doing a quick analysis of all 30 teams.

The Playoff Race Is Already In Full Swing…

Most teams have played 8 games this year, and I already find myself staring at the standings and trying to figure out where teams will wind up, mainly, the Montreal Canadiens.

John Tavares taking matters into his own hands

He couldn’t sway the NHL into letting him enter the 2008 draft, so now he’s turning pro on his own.

Counter Argument: Status Quo Is the Way to Go for the Leafs

10 games into the season and panic has already started in Leaf Nation. The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a rough start to the season getting only 9 of a possible 20 points in the first 10 games with the bulk of them at home.

Assessing The Leafs and Their Problems

I know, you’re probably thinking “Another Leafs article”, but none of those articles are ever about anything. They are just repetitive rants about different line combinations, or unrealistic advice to GM John Ferguson. So I thought I’d write the truth, something that wouldn’t get Leafs fans made fun of…

Ranger trade possible?

So, 8 games into the season, and the New York Rangers have minimal offensive production, while their defense and goaltending has been generally outstanding, which should be leading to some wins. The Rangers have now been shutout 3 times this season and have scored so few goals since 1950.

Could changes be coming?

The Leafs have called up Kronwall and Tlusty for the start of their road trip. Is this a sign that changes could be coming to the D. With Colaiacovo due back soon, Stralman now up and now Kronwall also called up, is this Maurice sending a message or are changes in the making? Harrison has also shown alot of grit with the Marlies, is he next? At forward Wellwood and Mark Bell are due back and with the call up of Tlusty, I would say that 2 forwards are on their way out. Again is this just Maurice sending a message or are changes coming up front as well? I would say that Ferguson and Maurice will do just about anything to save their jobs, so yes I expect changes to be made.

Hossa to the Leafs ???

Mark Goldman/Icon SMI

The Toronto Sun is reporting that the Maple Leafs are “strongly downplaying” speculation that Kaberle may be sent to the Thrashers as part of a deal for Hossa.

Canadiens Review, 6 Games In

Early on Montreal could perhaps be called a pleasant surprise. They have looked much better than most people expected, myself included. Here is my analysis of the Habs six game into the season…
