Nothing Will Happen Until Leafs Out of Contention

For the past few days and going back weeks we have all heard the countless stories and rumours to come out of Toronto on what will happen to our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Columnist like Damian Cox, Steve Simmons etc. have made outrageous predictions on who will coach or manage this team but personally I believe nothing will happen.

Trade Sundin for Future.

Well first off, i understand i will take a lot of heat for writing down my opinion but hopefully many of you see my point. Lets get right to it, Trade Sundin its that simple. Heres the reason in why i believe the Leafs should let, in my opinion the greatest leaf in the history go. This guy for countless years upon years has put his heart and soul on the crease of the Maple Leaf, He’s been a leader since day one, he may not be the most vocal but he leads by example.

Fllyers Contract Extensions

Flyers have extended a contract to Braydon Coburn for two years at $2.6 mil. The cap hit will be 1.3mil a year.

Peguins Habs, Lets make a deal…

Penguins have had enough of Fleury and rumor has him going to Colorado in exchange for Defense J.M. Liles and second round pick.

Bad Apples

Bad apples spoil a bunch.

Its just a saying,,, but it is getting too much play in the NHL.

The flyers are NOT evil.

Now this is coming from a person who has watched Bergeron play every NHL game of his career, as well as Alberts- and is heart sick over what must be going through Bergy’s mind and that of his families. It is one thing to loose an NHL career, but worse to loose a peaceful life.

The whole story

I said the best thing for the leafs is some consistency, and now they have that.

Now that the weekend has rolled over, lets look at the entire story.

Rangers to loose option on Jagr?

Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that the New York Rangers gave up the option on Jagr’s contract. Unless he hits some performance clauses he cold become an UFA this offseason.

Forsberg Working Out Again

The Detroit Free Press is once again reporting that Peter Forsberg is working out and may be set to return to the NHL this season.

Hottest 3 teams in the league.

The Vancouver Canucks, Dallas Stars, Atlanta Thrashers. 10 games ago who would have thought that these 3 teams would go a combined 21-5-4.

Free advice for the Maple Leafs

I’m new and I’m guessing that HockeyBuzz is a bad word around here, but Daniel Tolensky has posted a great column about “Stanley Cup Winning GMs and Some Free Advice for MLSE’s Board of Directors”. I think that he is 100% bang on. I really like the Bob Nicholson (Pres) and Steve Tambellini (GM) combo and totally agree the time to act is now, and not in the new year or the summer. Way too many important decisions to be made to wait.

What we should do as maple leaf fans

Honestly I think as hockey fans and in particularly Toronto Maple leaf fans we are not doing enough.

What we should do in my mind is to organize a protest against leafs management and let them hear us clear and loud as we demand changes to current mismanagement.

Ferguson Tried To Fire Maurice?

John Ferguson Jr. is rejecting a report in Monday’s edition of the Toronto Sun that claimed the Maple Leafs’ general manager tried to have head coach Paul Maurice fired late last week….
