Bandwagon Speculation

Growing up a Flames fan in Montreal was pretty tough. On one hand you the whole history against you. On the other you the likes of Nieuwendyk, MacInnis, Gilmour, Fleury, Otto, Suter, Veron, Makarov and Roberts all in their primes. And who can forget Lanny and Macoun. Not a shabby line up. However things start to grow on you. When you can walk down the street and shake hands with Mr. Gillett and Mr. Gainey as they go out to get a bite to eat, things change.

Blues Waive former all star Manny Legace

STLtoday.com is reporting that the St. Louis Blues have placed goalie Manny Legace on waivers. If he does clear … which is not too likely, he will be sent to the minors.

The Toronto Sun is denying rumors that Vesa Toskala may be done for the year. It has been rumored that if his sore groin does not improve that the Leafs will “shut him down for the year.”

Several Senators could be on the go.

Black Hawks Speculation

Tim Sassone of the Daily Herald reports on the possibilities for the Hawks come this trade deadline.

How good are they really?

The Canucks have finally ended their 9 game losing streak, and despite such an awful stretch of game they still are in 7th place, and 3 points out of 5th. If they go on a decent run after such a long losing streak, they could be considered a team that might be able to make some noise in the playoffs.

Devils Trade Away Brookbank + Canucks Swing a Deal

Two small trades happened today that saw the Canucks and Devils both make exchanges with the Ducks.

CKAC is reporting that the Montreal Canadiens may have interest in the Dallas Stars Brad Richards and Matt Niskanen. HTR feels that if this is so it would represent a change in direction away from the Lecavailer chase to possibly a more realistic offensive option for the Canadiens.
