The Jay Bouwmeester Edition
Alright Panther fans, lets do this. I want to put this out there before something happens. We’ve all heard the rumors out there. We know the Panthers don’t want to fold their tent, but we know it makes little sense to lose him for nothing after the season. So lets see if we can come up with something new to please everyone.

A Trade Idea For the Leafs

I have an idea for the Leafs. We all know the rumours about Columbus wanting Nikolai Antropov, and how Brian Burke wants a first rounder for him. Then there is Tomas Kaberle. He may very well be on his way out of Toronto this Wednesday. I though of a deal sending Antropov and Kaberle to Columbus.

I’ve posted this trade in a previous comment, and I recieved some positive feedback.

Although not directly sourced (in a link, it’s in a video, Making the List) it is believed that Darren Dreger of TSN.ca is reporting that the St. Louis Blues are interested in making a deal to reacquire Chris Pronger.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun is reporting his latest set of rumors. Some of the names mentioned in this article include Niklas Backstrom, Olli Jokinen, Brad Richards, Mike Ribeiro, Radek Bonk, Steve Sullivan, Greg de Vries and others.

The Latest on the Senators

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun is reporting that the Senators and Chris Neil will likely part ways this week as Neil has apparently rejected their latest contract offer. Other tid bits from this article include the latest on Kuba and Schubert.

Leafs and Bruins to make a deal?

The Boston Herald is reporting that the Bruins may be looking to make a trade with the Leafs.

Thrashers have many players to deal

AJC.com is reporting that there are many different Thrashers who “are potential trade targets.”

Guerin to be traded today?

Newsday.com is reporting that Islanders forward Bill Guerin expects to be traded to a contender today and that his scratching from the game last night was totally precautionary.

Oil City Thoughts

Martin St-Louis, Ilya Kovalchuk, Jason Spezza, Olli Jokinen, Jordan Staal and more. Who should the Oilers be looking at?

The Edmonton Oilers head into the trade deadline as neither a real “buyer” or a real “seller”. The club’s only UFA’s are G Dwayne Roloson, F Erik Cole & D Jason Strudwick. If the club has any intention of competing the rest of the season, then Roloson (arguably the Oilers best player this season) cannot be moved. It’s also believed the Oilers and Roli will come together on a new contract to keep the netminder in Edmonton next season. Strudwick should be back in a depth role as well.

Deadline Dealables

The trade deadline is coming in less than 4 days and rumors are more prevalent than ever.
Everything from incredibly insane deals and lopsided deals to surprisingly equal trades have been thrown around in rumors and in a few days many of us will get to see if we were dead on, close or far off.
