Clock ticking on Heatley

Habs aren't done yet

Bob Gainey has made some big changes this off-season, letting go of Koivu, Kovalev, Lang, Tanguay, trading Higgins for Gomez and acquiring Gill, Spacek, Mara, Moen, Gionta and Cammalleri from free agency. This was all done in a few days and not much has happened since .. only speculation of trades; MTL and LA , MTL and SJ, MTL and CLB .. this leads most to believe the Marleau deal is alive again, or that Frolov may be re-united with Cammalleri or that we may even get Huselius from Colombus. This is all speculation and I am going to give you what I think will happen.

RANGERS NEAR 'Z' DAY

Players looking for jobs

ALLEN PANZERI, Canwest News Service

Charles Darwin … meet Gary Bettman.

With about six weeks left before National Hockey League training camps open, dozens of players are still looking for jobs. Their agents are busy these days, sending out resumés and calling general managers.

Bruins, Sens and Sharks talking trade together

Sens need to find a home where Heatley wants to go. Sharks need to get under cap and change their team by adding a new top 6 winger, Bruins need to trade Kessel as they are not able to resign him. What are these teams going to do? All three of them could be in a trade together to satisfy all sides.

Zherdev Awarded $3.9M

According to Steve Zipay from Newsday, Rangers forward has been awarded $3.9M by the arbitrator. This increases the possibility that Zherdev may remain with the Rangers as he sought a $4.5M per season contract.

Habs could facilitate Heatley trade to Sharks

BRUCE GARRIOCH, Sun Media

Dany Heatley’s quest to get out of Ottawa isn’t dead yet.

Senators GM Bryan Murray confirmed in an e-mail to Sun Media that he could have “an option” to move the disgruntled left winger, but with the clock ticking toward the opening of training camp Sept. 12 at Scotiabank Place, the club will have to move quickly.

Heatley, Zherdev, Kessel; which team is not done yet in the off-season?

Will Heatley still be traded? My take on Zherdev and two teams that I think can get him. One has been discussed by the media in June, the other will surprise you.
