Honestly I don't know where were at I mean I took the time to look at some teams I expect to be making a change by November and anyone who could be brought in to help like....

1. Brendan Morrow

2. Shane Doan

3. Rene Bourque

4. David Moss

5. Jarome Iginla (Highly Unlikely.)

6. Ales Hemsky

I mean its not a bad list of players, I would prefer a top line center but if 15 games from now and our 3rd line is still not putting the puck in the net we may need to look for an upgrade. I am not demanding any trades who knows Lombardi may be able to spark something and I am still thinking Kadri pushes Frattin to the Marlies taking over the wing on 3rd line with Lombardi and Armstrong.

Would also would like to say cheers to Kessel. I know its a few games and he usually is streaky but he is not the same player he was last year. He is not just floating hoping for the puck to come to him he is actually forcing turnovers and playing D. Its really a great site to see one of your star players willing to get down and dirty.

Hahaha, oh this is what its all about. Ya, Leafy you were strongly against the Kessel trade, I came around to your POV last year when I got sick of losing (during my moment of "F uck this team". But at least, like Don Cherry you are admitting when you're wrong. This trade is looking like it will be a good one for the Leafs. I really don't think Seguin will ever be as good as Kessel.

Leafy and Wallace, you both need to chill.

And Josh, thanks buddy but don't give me too much credit, I never said Komi would have a solid season, I just said it was a possibility and I wanted everyone to give him a fair look. Hopefully I got through to some, and ya to Komisarek's credit he has played well so far (knock on wood).

Kessel has always been quick, always had that lethal shot/release. But through the first few games this year one big difference in his game has been his strength. That first goal he scored last night he basically pushed the defenceman out of his way, whilst protecting the puck and then snapped it home. That was awesome. He's even throwing some decent hits!

And ya, Lupul is a solid support winger. Never claimed he'd be the star of the team, but you gotta like what he brings in terms of skating, shot, etc. He's an ideal top line support winger, kind of a Knuble type.

They had a week off, so I can forgive the inconsistencies and play them off as rust. They did all come first period.

Komi is looking good. I really was doubting Mojo's call on him having a decent season but he hasn't been wrong yet. I think Gardiner needs to be sent down, he needs the AHL time. Plus we then give playing time to Franson (who looked great last night).

My only problem is where does the finisher fit? Kessel has chemistry with Lupul. A more talented guy could be available but will he bring the same kind of chemistry (assuming that it continues)? Kessel, Grabo, Kulemin and Lupul can all bury it. Same with MacArthur. What we need is the third line to be playing a game thats going to bring scoring as well. I honestly think that's our issue, not the top 6. Frattin might be a fit for that but I think we're going to need someone more on that line. Maybe moving Lupul down to that and getting another top 6 guy is a fix for that (supporting your idea)?

Totally agree on consistency. But it's early and they can fix that.

But to compete with the big boy, I really believe another "finisher" is needed. It probably doesn't show now because it's October and we haven't yet played one of the bona fide contenders, but as the season progresses, I think it will become more apparent.

The blueline though is absolutely ready. Even Komi looks ok back there. Reimer rock solid again. Keeping fingers crossed.

On a serious note, I'm also really excited with the leafs so far.

The one thing the team and players need isn't as much a top line center but consistancy.
We have seen it before with Kessel, but that isn't the major problem. The leafs need to play a full 60 mins!
the leafs outplayed the flames for like 56 mins that game, but two defensive slips almost cost them the game.

And how clutch was Reims save at the end there? Almost shat myself.
