Flyers targetting Thomas

Flyers management is now operating under the assumption that Emery will re-sign. So, with Emery crossed off the list, some believe the next likely target is free agent Tim Thomas, the 39-year-old former Cup winner who took last season off. Thomas spent the year with his family. Thomas’ agent, Bill Zito, told reporters yesterday that he has been instructed by his client to explore options for a comeback next season.

DREGER: LECAVALIER TO SIGN FIVE-YEAR, $22.5M DEAL WITH FLYERS

According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, veteran forward Vincent Lecavalier has agreed to sign a five-year, $22.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The deal will also include a full no-movement clause.

Avs will move move Stasney

It is nowrumored that the Avalanche will not trade Stasney. Also, the Wings were in on Edler.

Oilers looking for a goalie

It is rumored that the Oilers were well engaged in the Cory Schneider sweepstakes before he was traded to the Devils yesterday. Media is also reporting that the Oilers called Pittsburghabout Fleury but the belief is that he will not be traded.
