A Leaf Biased Draft Preview

While not really a rumor HTR thought that Leafs fans may enjoy this article, written from a Leaf fan perspective. The Article is Timlap’s 2007 Draft Preview and it is a quality article about the players that are available for the upcoming draft. If you are not a Leafs fan the information is helpful in order to “get to know” the players that are available at the draft this year.

Gillies will be the steal of the draft and just might be the best player when all is said and done. He was on a terrible team last year (the Saskatoon Blades) so don't judge him by just his stats.
Esposito will go to Montreal if he is still available (tho I would prefer taking Gillies).

I hate links to other articles as the main piece of the body…

should we all start sourcing Spectors, Eklunds (god forbid), the fourth period, TSN, local gazettes, etc. ??? we could make this a site of purely links to other real sites.

what I meant is at least give us a sample and end with:
    "read the rest/more at: http://www.____.com"

Can you please be more specific with your example, BruMagnus.  I'm sure everyone within the Leafs Rumors section has no interest in upsetting you or in wasting any more of your time?

Oh wait, I have an idea… start your own thread in the Penguin Rumors section.  What's that?  There isn't one?  Nuts!  Nobody gives a rat's ass about your likes or dislikes.  Discuss what's available, piss off, or just shut it.

Careful, he'll report you to moderators

Still Gillies had around 0.5 points per game. When you have other guys averaging 1.25-1.75 range. Gillies needs to prove he understands the offensive side of the game since moving up and becoming a forward.

But hey, Wenel Clark was a defensman until the Leafs drafted him, so Gillies with his size, shot, physical play could – like you said be the steal of the draft.

    LOL….that's what l'm talking about……

Safest pick is Turris, if you want someone who can step in next year pick Kane. If you want a solid Dman pick Alzner if you want the best player in the draft pick Cherpeanov but he is the biggest risk.

  9. Neely4Life says:

Id say ALzner is the safest pic honestly, he'll be a solid D in the league, whether he puts up numbers or not, my guess is he wont, but u look at someone like Phillips, Allen, Rehger, all solid D.

I'm not sure I get why this guy ranked players a certain way and proceeded to say he thought they would be taken at a different pick. I kind of figured that since the experts have already ranked these players, the point would be to try to predict the actual draft order. Otherwise all we've got is a non-expert's draft rankings based on what he's seen in the expert's draft rankings. Which are worthless and rather a waste of time to read when people that have actually seen these players live have ranked them already.

I want Gillies or Brandon Sutter. Ballsy guys.

  12. BruMagnus says:

    My bad, I apologize.

I just get frustrated when every day there's a new leafs article, and it wipes off previous articles that people don't have much time to comment on.

If you look at the main page, ALL of the article submitted are from June 14th!! No one goes into the HTR Archives. So if you don't come on for one day you miss a lot now, and if you make a comment, you cannot check to see who commented back or have a debate anymore. It's silly! They should either put more articles on the main page, or not post so many in one day but limit them.

Dude, the Leafs are the only team that matters, that's why everyone hates us.  HTR is lip service, this is LTR
