Iginla and Zetterberg would be so deadly together.

And Josh, you're crazy. Hudler is a sweet player and Filppula is even better. I can see Tacitus not wanting to move depth for a guy who is coming off a lesser year, but when you look at Iginla's stats, historically he is prone to having those 'off years'. Tends to happen when he is the only one carrying the offense on Calgary every year for the last 15 years.

But look at what happened the year he had Bertuzzi and Cammelleri playing with him. Give him some guys he can gel with and he'll score. He's a classy veteran, he deserves Detroit and they deserve him.

He has recently scored 50 without a centre, factor in a centre and motivation to show you are not washed I smell big season from him. It has always been said to not wake Iggy up if you wanna beat the flames, how much bigger wake calls are there then getting traded?

The thing is you put him on a team with a center capable of playing with him and he is a 30 goal guy easy. He makes any team better through leadership, talent and hard working play.

lol Iggie is on pace for 50 points.. 10 less then his bad year last year... so trade off to younger better paid guys who combined will out produce Iggie for a guy who is starting to downslope..

id rather keep the depth... or trade one and tartar... but they dont have cap space for it

I don't think Staal is an untouchable the way ppl think.... Pittsburgh needs to spread the wealth and talent to win again... bringing in iginla wouldnt be so bad....

I think it's rather even for both teams.... Calgary gets pieces for the future... Pitts gets thats winger for crosby, a good 2nd line center for Malkin, and a 1st rounder....Kunitz is just to even out the trade cap wise... I don;t think it overly favors either side.... And think of the Pittsburgh powerplay..... Crosby Malkin Iginla gologoski letang.... If that aint top five i dont know what is

Well Like i said in the Calgary thread,….. From what I hear Calgary fans are not opposed to an Iginla trade if it benefits the rebuild… alot of them are actually calling for it

I don't think Calgary is going to trade him. He is the face of the franchise and ownership loves him. But if they did it would be for a better package than that.

Agreed completely. White is as good as gone in my opinion. I think it came down to one or the other and its pretty obvious which one won out. I would bet that Dallas and Columbus make plays for White and try to resign him cheap.

Not a fan of this trade. Its not terrible, I'm just not a huge fan of Hudler or Filpulla. I would target Tatar in any trade. I also love Kronwall but I can't see the wings moving him anytime soon.

I really like the idea of Pittsburgh targeting him but I'm not sure how they would fit him and also what they have that would entice Calgary to let him go. The only way I see it working is if Staal goes the other way and I don't think Pittsburgh is prepare to let that happen. Maybe Kunitz, Tangradi and a pick but even then salaries would be tight.

I think St Louis would make a huge push for him. If its true they did with Kovy, I don't see why they wouldn't with Iginla. They have the assets and the winning team and apparently the willingness to win. Same goes for LA.

I do agree though that he deserves a shot at a cup. One of my favorite players and I hope he gets that chance. It would be a shame to see one of the best power forwards of all time not get one.
