Are you serious!? The DUCKS the frontrunner for Blake?!

Apparently having Niedermayer, Pronger and Schneider isn’t enough for the Ducks. They are now targeting and appear to be the frontrunner for Rob Blake! Just disgusting to think about.
The 4th period is one of a few sites reporting that if Blake doesn’t go to the Wings, the Ducks seems like the probable destination.
http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/ana080208.htmlFirst, the team is unsure of Niedermayer and Selanne’s intentions, so they sign Schneider.
Then, Niedermayer returns.
After that, Selanne returns.
Now, they are looking to get Blake as well?
My god, if this truly does happen, the Ducks will be looking to challenge the Wings as the West’s Cup contenders. Personally, I don’t think the Sharks have the depth past Thornton and Nabokov to challenge for that.

What do you think?

Here’s the article from the 4th period:
The Anaheim Ducks appear to be the frontrunners to acquire Los Angeles Kings defenseman Rob Blake, reports the Windsor Star.

The Detroit Red Wings are also believed to be heavily interested in Blake, however citing “highly-placed league sources,” the Star claims the Ducks will obtain him before the Feb. 26 trade deadline.

While Blake is currently suffering from a non-displaced fracture of the left ankle, the Wings may not be willing to pay the right for him.
According to the paper, the Kings are looking for an NHL-level player, a top prospect and a high draft pick.

Blake, 38, is making $6 million this season and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

If the Wings cannot get their hands on Blake, the Star suggests they’ll pursue a depth defenseman. The Ducks, on the other hand, appear willing to pay the price in order to defend their title as champions.
