National Hockey League had its most profitable year in 2008-2009 and team values rose $3 million to an average of $223 million despite a recession that curbed fan and sponsor spending, Forbes magazine said.

(User Info | Send a Message) | Does anyone else find it odd that on the year that the NHL apparently made the most profit, they decide to raise the cap by only a couple hundred thousand dollars?
Think they are trying to spend less to make more money?
