Ducks sign Travis Green

According to TSN: The Anaheim Ducks have signed free agent center Travis Green to a one-year contract. No financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Gonchar: Malkin staying in Russia

Sergei Gonchar has told the pittsburgh tribune review that Malkin will remain in Russia this season.

He apparently has reasons to stay in Russia, which were not revealed by Gonchar.

Hedstrom retiring

According to tsn:

The Ducks have announced the retirement of right wing Jonathan Hedstrom, who left the team during last season’s Stanley Cup playoffs because of family concerns in his native Sweden. Hedstrom collected 13 goals and 27 points in 79 regular-season games for the Ducks in 2005-06. He added one assist in three playoff games. Hedstrom had one year remaining on his contract at a salary-cap figure of $512,500, money that will not count against the Ducks’ salary cap this season.

Legace to St. Louis?

According to HockeyBuzz, Manny Legace has signed a contract with the St. Louis Blues.

Dumont is now a FREE AGENT !

Alright, let’s get down to the fact.

The Sabres rejected JP Dumont 2,9 millions contract that he won in arbitration. That means he is now an unrestricted free agent.

Should the HABS try to ink him ?

Leafs may pick up a risky forward

HockeyLeaks are claiming that the maple leafs are in talks with eric daze who missed the entire season last year due to back problems. If Daze does have a good year he will have a great year as a Maple Leaf

Agent denies Malkin's signing

ESPN is reporting that Malkin’s agent JP Barry is denying that his client reworked his 3 year deal into 1 year. His agent told the AP in a telephone interview that Malkin wants to play in Pittsburgh this season.

Bruins sign Dempsey and Pelletier, re-sign Jurcina

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli announced Monday that the Boston Bruins have signed defensemen Milan Jurcina and Nathan Dempsey along with left wing Pascal Pelletier to contracts.

Nagy Awarded 3 Million

TSN is reporting ‘An NHL arbitrator has awarded Phoenix Coyotes forward Ladislav Nagy a one-year $3 million contract for the 2006-07 season. ‘

Why hasn’t Clarke done anything to address the most obvious of problems for the Flyers? I remember feeling good about the signing of Hatcher and Rathje. Ahhh those were the good ole days. The blissful ignorance of what the new NHL would turn into. As it turns out, paying Hatcher and Rathje a combined 7 million is not a good thing!

TSN reported yesterday an arbitrator has awarded forward Adam Mair a one-year, $675K contract. the terms of the CBA state that the Sabres have to accept the award because it is less than $1 million.The Sabres payroll is now at $38 million, and Ryan Miller and Dmitri Kalinin are still not re-signed.

Roberto Luongo is considered the busiest goalie in the NHL, now that was in Florida where he faced more shots than anyone else in the league and still, managed to put up some of the best stats in the league.

Malkin Fires Agent – Again

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Evgeni Malkin has fired his agent, again. What does this mean for his status this fall? Hopefully he’ll still be in a Pens uni!

Stajan or Antropov could go

According to Spector’s trade rumors, and “Leafs Lunch” JFJ is attempting to clear some cap space, with the most likely candidates being Antropov or Stajan.

The specific rumor was Antropov to Detroit but no word on what they’d get in return. (either picks or prospects).

Fleury and Malone signed!

The Pittsburgh Penguins website is reporting that Marc-Andre Fleury has signed with the team. Fleury signed a two-year contract, but financial terms were not disclosed on the website. The NHLPA website has yet to post what his salary for this year will be.

The NHLPA website is also reporting that Ryan Malone is under contract for this season for $1.3M.

NHLPA.com is reporting that the San Jose Sharks have signed UFA defenseman, Mathieu Biron. Terms were not disclosed…

Hossa re-signs in NY

According to outsidethegarden.com, “

It appears that Marcel Hossa has been signed to a contract for $600,000. NHLPA.com shows him as being under contract, so expect an announcement soon.”

Bouillon has Surgery

According to rds.ca, Montreal Canadiens defenceman Francis Bouillon had his knee examined by a doctor after arriving in Vail, Colorado and had surgery on Wednesday. There is no official word on the extent of Boullion’s injury or how long he will be sidelined, but local reports say he could be out from four to six weeks. Bouillon made the trip to Vail after experiencing pain in his knee last week when he started skating.
