Rangers Add Krog Through Waivers

According to, the teams official website, the Blueshirts claimed Jason Krog off waivers from Atlanta.

Petr Nedved claimed on re-entry waivers… by the Oilers!!!

According to, Petry Nedved has been claimed by the Edmonton Oilers. While there was wide spread speculation that Ottawa would be claiming the center, since Edmonton is lower in the standings, they get priority.

Umm…well, I thought Edmonton needed help on the blueline rather then upfront. They haven’t been scoring, but they have the talent. Maybe Nedved will reclaim his form he had last time he was in Edmonton.
If he does, great pickup. If not, it’s about 600k dollar hit against the cap

Four points in four first NHL games: sent back down…

On first glance it looks crazy that the Habs have sent rookie Maxime Lappierre back to Hamilton after he scored three goals and an assist in his first four NHL games, and looked great doing it.

However with Steve Begin coming back from injury, either Garth Murray or Aaron Downey would have had to go, except there is a holiday freeze on transactions. Meaning they stay temporarily with the team and the only guy who doesn’t have to clear waivers, Lappierre, goes down.

Worry not Habs fans, who drool at the chemistry Lappierre shows with Latendresse; as soon as the freeze is lifted, he will be swapped with Murray or Downey. Mark my words. :)

Today I’ll just post some simple news and notes coming from the Northeast division.
