According to TSN, an arbitrator has awarded Blackhawks forward Kyle Calder $2.95-million for the 2006-2007 season. Calder is coming off a great season in which he recorded career highs in goals with 26, and points with 59.

Red Wings Re-sign Williams

The Detroit Red Wings re-signed centre Jason Williams to a 2-year deal. Terms were not disclosed – Williams was scheduled for arbitation next monday.

Buffalo Sabres Managing Partner Larry Quinn announced today the Sabres will wear the franchise’s original blue and gold uniform and logo as the team’s third jersey during 15 home games in the 2006-07 season.

Sabres sign Lydman, Pomminville

The Buffalo Sabres have signed rfa forward tony lydman to a 4-year-deal (11.5 million).

Buffalo also signed other RFA Jason Pominville to a 3-year, 3.1M$ contract. Pominville scored 18 goals and 12 assists in his rookie season last season.

Mogilny, Malakhov Back?

According to Sportsnet, New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that both Alexander Mogilny and Vladimir Malakhov were back in the plans for next season. Apparently Lamoriello convinced Malakhov to come back from retirement and he fully expects Mogilny to be in training camp fighting for a position.

An arbitrator has awarded New Jersey Devils forward Scott Gomez $5 million US for the 2006-07 season. The Devils have 48 hours to decide whether to retain Gomez and his salary for next season or walk away from the deal, thus making him an unrestricted free agent.

Eagle Has Landed

The Florida Panthers agreed to terms with Belfour on a one-year, incentive-based contract which will pay the goaltender in the vicinity of $750,000 base salary. Depending on games played, games dressed and playoff bonuses, the Eagle’s salary could rise to well over $1.5 million.
