The Score, TSN, and Sportsnet are reporting that the Dallas Stars have offered Eric Lindros a one year deal worth $2 Million. The leafs have been rumored to be offering much less at about $750,000 a season. TSN also reports that the Oilers and the Kings appears to be in the mix as well and a decision should be made by sunday.
According to the Toronto Sun Anson Carter has fell off the leafs radar screen as a likely free agent aquisation. The Toronto Sun also reports negotiations between JFJ, Jason Allison, and Mike Peca are on-going.

A little bit of a quieter day for the Montreal Canadiens, but Bob Gainey continued with a couple signings, according to the Habs’ webpage. Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Thursday the signings of goaltender Yann Danis, forward Duncan Milroy, defenseman Andrew Archer and free agent Dan Jancevski for the 2006-07 season.
As we all know, Mike Peca is a wannabe Leaf, and with the Roberts deal apparently dead, he is the most likely to be the Leafs next signing. Many people are opposing this because it would take away time from the young guys. I disagree.
Puerto Rico preseason?
While still unconfirmed, it’s likely the Panthers will play the Rangers in an exhibition game Sept. 23 in Puerto Rico. “[The Rangers] don’t have it nailed down yet, but it’s close,” Panthers director of hockey operations Jack Birch said Monday, adding that he talked to Rangers GM Glen Sather last week and “they’re 99 percent sure.” The Panthers’ preseason and regular-season schedules are expected to be released in the next few days. …
With the signings of free agents Cullen, Ward, Rachunek, and Shanahan it was expected that the Rangers would re-sign Rozsival to finish off their defense part of the roster. But the N.Y Daily News is reporting otherwise.

According to tsn.ca and bostonbruins.com, the Ottawa Senators have released former Assistant GM Peter Chiarelli from his duties. Chiarelli will start immediately as the new GM of the Boston Bruins. He was originally not allowed to start until July 15.

Montreal Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey has announced the signing of right-handed defenseman, Mike Komisarek for the 2006-2007 season.
Acording to Detroit Sports Radio, Gainey is now focusing on bringing in Eric Lindros to Montreal, after being spurned by Shannahan. — I don’t know about this one, but that’s what they said.
