When the reign of Patrick was over, I thought that the Pens may have finally made the decision that would turn the team around. I was excited that the management had finally realized what a problem had been for so long and they corrected it. But after Shero took over, it was almost all downhill, and fast.

According to TSN.ca, Former Penguins right winger Aleksey Morozov, coming off two excellent seasons in the Russian Super League, still is a candidate to return to the NHL this winter. but it doesn’t look like it will be with the Penguins. General manager Ray Shero said this week that Morozov is “not [in] my price range.” Morozov, an unrestricted free agent, is believed to be seeking at least $3 million per season, although his precise contract demands are not known.
Bruce Garrioch reports the Senators continue to shop winger Martin Havlat but his contract demands are getting in the way. “It’s believed that the Sharks, Rangers, Stars and Blackhawks are among the teams trying to work out a deal with the Sens.” Nevertheless Havlat continues to insist on a one-year contract in order to test next summer’s UFA market. There is also speculation the Sens may be interested in UFA centre Yanic Perreault.
