An interesting rumor struck my attention last night while listening to the Habs/Bruins game…
according to tsn.ca the Coyotes have shipped Landon Wilson to the team that has just set the NHL record for the most losses in a row, the Penguins!! In return of future considerations.
According to RDS.ca, Montreal Canadiens captains Saku Koivu and Mike Ribeiro got into an intense fight at the morning skate at the Bell center. The two of them shared a rivalry since the beginning of the season for the top center spot. That rivalry turned sour this morning.
The Carolina Hurricanes announced that they recalled veteran goaltender Arturs Irbe from the minors.
According to Jim Rutherford, team GM, he is expected to play within a week from now.

At the end of HNIC on Saturday night, Ron McLean suggested Gainey may be going after one of:
Taken from Philly.com:
– Flyers center Jeremy Roenick could miss the rest of the regular season after breaking his jaw in a victory over the New York Rangers.
The Atlanta Thrashers and Edmonton Oilers are developing quite the history between each other. Oiler legend Kelly Buchburger was the teams first ever captain, and scored they’re first ever goal. The Thrash got embarrased a year later when Ryan Smyth (not the Oilers), beat them 3-0. Then the battle of the future stars last season when Kovalchuk and Comrie went toe to toe…
According to RDS.ca, Sheldon Souray could be out of the lineup for a period of 6 weeks…
A list of the most recent injuries from around the league.
CBC just posted a story that a lawyer in Winnipeg proved Don Cherry right.
So the NHL wants to go to the 3-point game, do they? Well let me be the first to offer an opinion.
Martin Brodeur writes, from time to time, his own column in a Quebec newspaper. In his latest column he decided to write down his own all-star team, composed of 4 offensive lines, 3 defense pairings and 2 goalies. I found it interesting enough to go ahead and transribe the article for people of the site, so it goes like this…
The Colorado Avalanche will be without All-Star defenseman Rob Blake for an indefinite time period. It was announced that Blake has suffered a hairline fracture in his left leg.
Check out the latest NHL news… Just a little something to stir up some opinions.
Looks like Curtis Joseph will stay in Detroit after all…
I never had any intention of doing an AHL version of this and then FoxSports Detroit went and replayed the Skills Competition for the AHL All-Stars late last night and I found myself devouring it as well. This is fun because you get to see a lot of upcoming NHL prospects for the first time and judge them for yourself.
(By the way, the actual All-Star Game is to be held tonight at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI).
And so here we go, here are some of my thoughts upon seeing the AHL All-Star Skills Competition:
Bobby Clarke traded today defensemen Eric Weinrich to the St.Louis Blues in exchange for a 5th round pick in the 2004 draft…
The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired goalie Sean Burke from the Phoenix Coyotes, ESPN’s John Buccigross has learned.
Well tonight (Saturday night) was the YoungStars game and the Skills Competition. While a lot of people bash these events as boring, I enjoy watching them because you get a chance to examine players you wouldn’t normally get a chance to see play very much. And as such, you also see things you wouldn’t normally see.
Here are some of my thoughts…
(Note: This is not a recap, this is a collection of thoughts that are probably more-enlightening to someone who watched the events already)…
