With training camp and the pre-season fast approaching it is time to take a look at what the team should look like for the comming year.
After turning down what is rumored to be a 5 year 25million dollar deal just minutes before his arbitration hearing, some have been speculating that Roberto Luongo’s days in Florida are numbered.
Cliff Fletcher was on The Fan 960 this morning here in Calgary and mentioned that later today Phoenix would have an annoucement to a free agent signing. Not likely to be a big player, but a player nonetheless.
With the NHL season less than 2 months away, it looks as though the Northeast could have the best dogfight for division champs. Here are my predictions on where each team will finish in their division.
RDS.ca is reporting that ex-Montreal Canadiens’ Defenseman Stéphane Quintal has announced his retirement after 16 years in the National Hockey League. Quintal has also played with the Boston Bruins, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, St Louis Blues, and Chicago Blackhawks.
Here’s my view of what the Habs will look like in 05/06. For the first time in years Montreal fans will see a young, fast and exciting team.
Being a fan of Boston, I am somewhat pleased with the look of the Bruins.

The Edmonton Oilers avoived arbitration with Shawn Horcoff, signing him to a one-year contract.
The Nashville Predators signed Randy Robitaille.
The Leafs have signed goaltender J.S. Aubin, formally of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He will likely be the full time backup for Eddie Belfour.
For us in Canada, You may be a little more formiliar with hockey night in canada, Broadcasted on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting corp). Well If you didn’t know, the station is on strike. And today Fan590 announced that they would broadcast games without commentary. I don’t know if this will help or hurt ratings… My guess would be hurt!

According to tsn.ca, Dan Cloutier is set to resign with Vancouver to a 2 year 5 million deal.
TSN.ca is also reporting that Carolina has agreed to terms with Josef Vasicek on a two year deal.
Now that the wave of major signings have calmed down i was wondering which teams are going to make the playoffs. What are your predictions?
