According to TSN.ca, the Thrashers have re-signed Scott Mellanby to a one year deal worth $1M.
Caps re-sign netminder Johnson
The Washington Capitals and goalie Brent Johnson have agreed on a new contract, according to RDS.ca. The terms of the deal are not known.

Both Hockeyleaks.com and Hockeybuzz.com, and TSN.ca are reporting Chris Mason has re-signed in Nashville. 2 year deal worth 1.25 million per season
Staal Gets Paid BIG TIME!
TSN.ca reports that Eric Staal has re-signed with the Carolina Hurricanes for three years worth $13.5M.
Also, RDS.ca reports that Mike Commodore has re-signed with the Cup victors for two years worth $2.5M.

Good news for the Habs fan , defencemen Francis Bouillion has signed a three year deal $5,6M , which would give him $1,8M a year.

According to Sportsnet.ca Free Agent Tracker, the Avs re-signed defensemen Karlis Skrastins and Brett Clark.
Gainey To Offer Contract To Elias!!
Acording to rds.ca
Patrick Elias, who becomes unstricted free agent, will most likely receive an offer from Canadiens GM Bob Gainey.
The forward could be asking at least $8 million a year.
Other News: Talks With Francis Bouillion and the Habs are still going. According to RDS, Bouillion is looking for $2.2M a year. Montreal has offered him $1.7M a year so far.

There is less than an hour until July 1, the beginning of UFA season and anticipation is mounting as to what moves teams will make.
Montreal will have a word with Elias
According to RDS.ca, Elias would be on Montreal’s list of players they would add to their roster. Gainey is going to make an offer for his services after July 1st. The problem is that Elias could order a salary of 8M$… and that many teams would be interested in him!
