The Penguins will name Ed Olczyk their new head coach in a news conference at noon today at Mellon Arena.

Olczyk, 36, has been a broadcaster with the Penguins’ network for three years after a 16-season NHL career with the Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings. He has no coaching experience.

Blues Sign Chris Osgood

The Blues management finally realized that they cannot rely on Brent Johnson for a Stanley Cup and signed upcoming UFA Chris Osgood, who was dealt to the Blues at the May trade deadline. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
