Acording to rds.ca
Patrick Elias, who becomes unstricted free agent, will most likely receive an offer from Canadiens GM Bob Gainey.
The forward could be asking at least $8 million a year.
Other News: Talks With Francis Bouillion and the Habs are still going. According to RDS, Bouillion is looking for $2.2M a year. Montreal has offered him $1.7M a year so far.
There is less than an hour until July 1, the beginning of UFA season and anticipation is mounting as to what moves teams will make.
According to RDS.ca, Elias would be on Montreal’s list of players they would add to their roster. Gainey is going to make an offer for his services after July 1st. The problem is that Elias could order a salary of 8M$… and that many teams would be interested in him!
According to Sportsnet.ca the Edmonton Oilers have re-signed Fernando Pisani to a four-year deal. Financial Terms Undisclosed.
According to tsn.ca, the Columbus Blue Jackets have traded goalie Marc Denis for forward Fredrik Modin, and goaltender Fredrik Norrena.

The Ottawa Senators have locked up one of their elite blueliners, as sources tell TSN the team has signed defenceman Wade Redden to a two-year contract.
RDS reports that Roberto Luongo has signed with the Vancouver Canucks for four years at $6.8M a season.
Not necessarily a trade rumor, but according to the Palm Beach Post, Gary Roberts has asked the Florida Panthers to trade him back to Toronto. Reason? His 16 year-old-daughter attends a boarding school, but would be left “unsupervised” if Roberts plays in Florida, and his ex-wife moved to Calgary. Wow, such a nice mother!
Mike Keenan is looking to trade Roberts for a minor leaguer, or a draft pick, to create more cap space. With the Leafs rumored to buy out Tie Domi’s contract, Roberts may be a good substitute, unless John Ferguson Jr. wants to send some salary back to Florida.
With the great season and horrible playoffs the Wings had this year, you would think most Detroit fans would be happy to see the offseason. Not so.<
