According to Nik Kypreos of Sportsnet (http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2008/08/13/mccabe_trade_clause/), McCabe has rescinded his NMC to possibly move to the Panthers.
mikster’s note: I’ve commented around (HTR, Panthershockey.net, McKeen’sHockey Boards) that Bryan McCabe would be the ideal target for the Panthers and that the Panthers would be his ideal target as well. I know for a fact that he has good friendly connections here in South Florida, one a retired player and the other an active player. While I would like to share information with my fellow hockey fans on HTR.com, I am not a rumor monger and I respect information given to me.
If I were you, I’d expect to see McCabe come to Florida, but don’t cout on Jay Bouwmeester heading the other way. It may very well be either Van Ryn or Cory Murphy heading to Toronto in the deal, with Peltonen.
A list of players have filed for arbitration and Senators forward Antoine Vermette and Panthers defenseman Jay Bouwmeester lead the top of the list.
Never in my time as a Ranger fan have I heard as much praise for Glen Sather. It seems that with the pick up of Redden, the re-signing of Roszival, the Zherdev trade, then the Naslund and Kalinin signings people are talking about Sather in ways I could have never imagined.
But really, why should Sather be praised when all he as done is potentially cripple the New York Rangers for the next 5 years?
