Clarkie Cookin Something Up – Amonte out 2 weeks

Last night on Comcast Sportsnight it was said that the Flyers were in talks with two teams regarding goaltending.

The first team is the often mentioned Caps. The offer that Comcast said the Flyers put on the table was Therien and Hackett for Kolzig.

Gonchar Out for a Month…

Sergie Gonchar, one of the most sought after defenseman, will be out for a month at least. He suffered a second-degree shoulder ligament tear.

Shoulda Coulda Woulda Been: 2004 All-Stars

Well hockey fans time to pull the ratings away from the Super Bowl in February (who likes football really?) with the 20….04 NHL All-Star game. It’s a time when most hockey fans are happy. Usually cause their ‘model’ hockey player is going to show his madskillz. Or disgusted with their favorite teams record. Elated or not there a still some bones to pick with this years break.

Capitals' Fire Sale: Everything For A Dollar!!

The Capitals plan to trim their $50 million payroll by $24 million, and they took the first step toward achieving their goal yesterday. They traded a way super star Jaromir Jagr to the New York Rangers for ex-Oiler Anson Carter. This move is the first of many moves the Caps will be involved in. Bondra, Lang, and Gonchar are said to be on the market.

Rumors are swirling around this team, and players like Jeff O’Neil, Roman Hamerlik, Janne Ninamma, and Sergi Gonchar are being linked are said to be potential targets for the Leafs. And then there’s the media….

Kolzig and Gonchar almost Flyers????

On 610 WIP this morning they were discussing the Flyers need for a goalie and it was said that “inside sources” in the Flyers organization stated that prior to the Markov deal the Flyers were “very close” to acquiring Kolzig and Gonchar and that Williams was part of that package that fell apart at the last minute.
