Don't see why not. Could benefit the player and the team. Go to the minors and try to find his game. https://t.co/ypi8tS51xq

Lots to think about when it comes to deciding on how to handle the Eric Staal situation.
What to do, what to do, if you’re the Boston Bruins and pending unrestricted free-agent winger Loui Eriksson remains unsigned into Monday, as the clock ticks down to the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline?
So, if Chicago, for example, want to add a huge salary such as Eric Staal’s (from Carolina), the Blackhawks could ship Bryan Bickell’s $4-million deal to Toronto in order to create the necessary cap space. The Leafs would also get a high draft pick or a worthwhile prospect for their largesse.
On the notion of whether or not a Jacob Trouba for Travis Hamonic trade is in the ballpark:
“I think it’s a considerable long shot that Jacob Trouba gets traded between now and Monday. And if Cheveldayoff is willing to consider that, and the Hamonic situation is still a good fit, then they do that in the summer if it’s still there.”“I think it’s a considerable long shot that Jacob Trouba gets traded between now and Monday. In fact, there are at least four pending UFAs whose price tag might require a first in order to pry them away from their current clubs: Loui Eriksson, Andrew Ladd, Eric Staal and Mikkel Boedker.
Bob McKenzie was on Vancouver’s TSN 1040 on Tuesday morning.
On if the Canucks are talking with Tampa Bay about Jonathan Drouin:
“I think just about everybody is talking to Tampa. When I say everybody, I would say anywhere from 10-15 teams have pretty significant interest in this player, and I would lump the Canucks in that group of 10, 12, 15 teams.
Multiple sources report keen interest in the 29-year-old, much of it coming from the Western Conference. Dallas has been dogging the Rangers for weeks. The Blueshirts perhaps would be able to get the Stars’ immensely talented 20-year-old winger Valeri Nichushkin as part of the return package. Such a possibility would surely tempt Rangers general manager Jeff Gorton.
An interesting report from Gary Lawless that the Winnipeg Jets have already received an offer of a first-round pick and a prospect for Ladd, and the trade market appears to be shaping up for the Bruins to get a very good return for Eriksson, who is red-hot and on pace for 29 goals and 64 points this season.
#Stars Val Nichushkin reportedly on trading block. Would be hard for some GMs to straight up say nyet on acquiring him.

It's believed Arizona has backed off a previously tabled offer to extend Boedker, which further supports the likelihood he will be traded.

Are the Edmonton Oilers shopping one of their former first overall picks? What is the market like for Jets’ captain Andrew Ladd? Could the Rangers land Eric Staal? The Insiders have the latest on these and more
