Avery back to New York Part 3

Larry Brooks on the New York Post is anxiously waiting for the possible return of Sean Avery to the New York Rangers who appear to be in desperate need of a kick start … or just a some heart.

Yesterday Avery cleared waivers and was assigned to the Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL. It is believed that he will some be recalled by the Dallas Stars in an effort to have another team such as the Rangers pick him up for half of his present salary.

It is also once again noted in this article that Chris Drury, Wade Redden and Scott Gomez all appear to have lost their way of late. Neither of these highly paid additions have steeped it up to lead the team this season.

HTR thinks that the Rangers will most likely wend up with Avery in the near future but wonders why division rivals would let this happen. Teams near the rangers in the playoff race could see their seasons slip away if Avery turns it up a notch with the Rangers and leads them charging into the playoffs.
