Balsillie May Have to Wait a bit Longer

According to the Tennessean Jim Balsillie’s has submitted his bid to buy the Nashville Predators and hopes to have the terms of sale approved by the NHL board of governors on the June 20 meeting.

Holding up the process may be the thinking by Bill Daly that the process is rushed and there is not enough time to get things in order to have the bard of governors approve the sale this month.

In an ironic way there is a possibility that if the team is not sold to Balsillie this month that many of the free agents will walk come the end of the month. One would think that if the present owner is going to sell the team that he would not invest millions into free agents. If the attendance dips below 14,000 this season there is an out clause that would permit the team to be re-located. HTR believes that is the deal is not done this month Balsillie would be let off the hook for providing a poor team next season because all the quality free agents walked.
