Just let him ramble on with his same old bull shit. Noone listens to him anyway.]]>
If you knew anything about hockey you would know Quinn preaches offence which would suit a guy like Paul Kariya perfectly. Just because the leafs dont trap doesnt mean they dont have a game plan.
mike rathje is a superior player to chris therien. that was a pretty pathetic comparison. rathje has been a very consistent performer for almost 10 years for the sharks and is a rare commodity in the league offering size, toughness and a presence on defence. therien had a couple of good years in philly and that was it. his career is done. Rathje brings his game every night. and certainly if he plays better against the top end talent of the league i’ll take it.
again you limited hockey knowledge fools you as Paul Maurice was a winner. he won an ontario hockey league championship. not an easy league to win in and he did it and helped his team get to the memorial cup. a very prestigeous tournament. but again how would i expect you to know that. and helping a team with limited talent like the canes get to the final is a pretty good feat.
and if you were paying attention to anything that has been going on in the hockey world you will know that with the cap they are talking about no team will be able to go over it. get your facts straight.
and really all 30 teams will have a shot at sidney crosby. it will be all about luck. you amateurish quote from a terrible movie is a clear indication of how small your brain really is. you know any team from detroit to carolina to philly to atlanta to toronto has a shot at winning the lottery, even if for some teams it may be a small chance. but there is a chance, you will know that luck needs to play a part and any team can get lucky on that day they do the lottery.
did you fall out of the pessimism tree or something? all i hear from you is no no no no no. christ you sound like a whiny, pathetic mama’s boy beeatch. who are you dandoeagle?
sorry people. i dont normally bash others on this site but in this case, it had to be done. my article was relatively unbiased, i gave my opinion and was hoping for some intellectual conversation out of it but instead i ended up with this idiotic drivel and simply had to give this ***** a swift big boot to the teeth]]>
“There are plenty of options at forward to choose from such as Petr Forsberg, Markus Naslund, Paul Kariya, Eric Lindros, Jason Allison, Ziggy Palffy, Jason Arnott, Mike Modano, Alex ZHamnov, Alex Kovalev, Pavol Demitra, Martin St. Louis, Glen Murray, Teemu Selanne.”
If Toronto fans think they have any shot at these players (with the exception of Lindros and Allison, whose collective cerebella have the consistency of an undercooked quiche), then they are fooling themselves moreso now than in the history of the franchise.
Do you really believe that St. Louis would give up a sweet gig here in sunny Florida to toil for a perennial also-ran? Do you really believe that Peter Forsberg would abandon the Colorado franchise which has treated him like gold ever since he crossed the pond, IF indeed he does return?
For the love of Pete, grow some brains, people.
“Paul Kariya’s speed and skill would be a nice fit in Pat Quinn’s system.”
Uh, what “system” would that be?
“I would love for Toronto to grab a guy like Mike Rathje whose size and ruggedness is what the Leafs desperately need. “
Rathje is the equivalent of Chris Therien – great size, nice presence, looks like a world-beater against offensive stars like Jagr, Yashin, etc. But put him up against the likes of Darby Hendrickson and his game goes down the crapper.
I am sick and tired of Leaf fans continually singing the praises of Nikolai Antropov. I have finally come to the painful conclusion that no matter how much I try to get these mindless automatons to listen to reason, or no matter how much this talentless oaf stinks it up on the ice, the point will never get across. I guess Leafers have to keep justifying the fact that this waste of space was drafted before the likes of Simon Gagne, Scott Gomez, Brad Richards, Mike Ribiero, Pavel Datsyuk, and Niko Kapanen.
“And with Paul Maurice now the new coach of the Marlies, the Leafs not only have a solid guy to help develop their prospects, but also a winner…”
Did you just call a man with a career NHL coaching record of 239-258-91, a man who changed Stanley Cup finalists into cellar dwellers, a man with the personality like that of peat moss a “winner?”
Jebus, help these poor souls.
Look, we all know the Leafs are going to be buyers. They’re one of those big market/big money teams (i.e. Detroit, New York, Philadelphia) who are going to survive no matter what the economic climate. I fully expect Toronto to continue to spend a lot of money. But I also expect their spending habits to continue – they’re going to throw cash at the wrong people. You are going to continue to see the likes of Gary Roberts, Joe Nieuwendyk, Tie Domi, and Brian Leetch because that’s what the Leafs do.
Toronto will be over the salary cap and paying luxury tax on a roster very similar to the one they last put on the ice. Write it down.
Yet more Leafer delusions:
“And who knows, with some luck they could win the Sidney Crosby sweepstakes.”
I will close with a quote from “Super Troopers:”
“I’ll believe that when me shit turns purple and smells of raspberry sherbet.”]]>
