RDS reported the same news, but then said Biron’s agent denied the rumors. I guess we’ll wait and see.

Hats off to Holmgren, he's been the best GM so far.

Talk about rebuilding a team and fast!

Draft pick seems to be the Flyers 1st round pick they acquired from Nashville.

As a Sabre Fan, first I would like 2 say Thank You 2 Marty. He was a great team player even though he wanted 2 start, and was always willing to do what he had to do for this team. Also, I believe this is a great deal for Buffalo, because I feel this is a pre-cursor to another deal that Buffalo will be making later in the day. Hats Off to Darcy!

I think this is a good deal for both clubs.  Assuming the Flyers re-sign and extend Biron's contract, they have their goalie, and the Sabres received a draft pick, sounds like Nashville's 1st rounder, for a goalie that was going to walk at the end of the season for nothing.
Does anyone know if Biron was on good terms with his teammates, such as Drury and Briere?  Because as a Flyers fan, I'm wondering if having another link to these guys will give us any better of a chance of signing either of them.  Thanks to anyone who can help.

Just to update everyone, the Flyers dealt a 2nd round pick to Buffalo, according to philadelphiaflyers.com.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have acquired 6’3”, 175-pound goaltender Martin Biron (MAHR-tihn BIH-rohn) from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a second round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, according to General Manager Paul Holmgren.

Back again after a long absence – hope you've all been well (if anyone remembers me!).

Great moves by Holmgren in the last few weeks.  He's certainly making it hard to argue against him as the GM.  He's been brilliant.  If only Hatcher and Esche would get dealt!
