I think Lalime sould be a pretty good compliment to Khabibulan as a backup..seriously.

Lalime does have the ability to carry a game on his own but he chokes in the playoffs and he doesn't HAVE to be the go to guy this year for anybody so watch him have a half decent season as a backup and watch the Hawks sneak into the 8th spot in the west.

Well, I'm going to stand up a little for Lalime and the Blues a little (even though they're not my favorite team). Where I live, I get to see Blues games on tv all the time. So much went wrong last year. The Blues just seemed to find ways to lose all the time. Everything that could go wrong did. I almost think their defense was scared. And that's where I put the blame for the poor record. I don't think Lalime is to blame entirely. The defense just couldn't get it together. I hate saying that I blame them, because I really like a lot of their defensemen. But that's the way I see it.

It also didn't help that they suspended Tkachuk. I know his weight problem showed a lack of discipline, work ethic, and even maybe respect for his team mates. But look at the way he played once he finally returned. He was dominant. Maybe his numbers don't show that emphatically, but you could see it in his play. He didn't always finish, but he made things happen, and he opened up the game for the Blues. The team, even though they still lost a lot of games, played considerably better in the second half of the season after Tkachuk came back.

Anyway...so yeah...I don't totally blame Lalime. I think he can play better. If the Blackhawks improve their defense a little more, he certainly can. He's not going to be the starter anyway.

Don't forget Lalime won over 30 games a year for the Sens, and played in a All-Star game.

Skill does not evaporate in one season.

I'm not saying he will return to his top form (a solid, but not elite NHL goalie.) But it is more llikely he will bounce back, and last season was just a blip on his record.

He is too good not to be challenging for a #1 job.

Look how Roloson bounced back from a rough year.
