Palushaj has 5 goals and 17 assists in 44 games in the American league right now. I just looked it up. Not terrible, nothing special. I dont know what kind of player he is.

At the same age, 3 years ago D'agostini posted 49 pts in 63 AHL games. He's slowly devloped into a marginal NHL player. So I guess not a bad deal for either team

It's basically to rid of a small contract and gain a slight increase in cap space…. 500,000 to be exact….. D'ags wasnt pulling his weight and is set to be a RFA this season….. so like i said…. just to gain some cap space… we have enough good fillers….. Darche, White, Pyatt, Maxwell, the list goes on….

Its kind of funny cuz D'agostini and one of the guys traded for Gomez were hailed as the top 2 prospects for the Habs for a while.

Also funny because the Leafs top prospect and draft picks from 2001 & 2002 in Coliacavo and Steen were traded for Stempniak who was then traded for 4th and 7th round picks.  2 1st's for a 4th and a 7th.

  6. mojo19 says:

Ya but Stempniak himself was a 5th rounder. So by that logic, a 5th for a 4th and 7th. Good haul. lol

And also by your logic, since Steen and Colaiacovo are both UFA's this summer you could get two first round picks for nothing….

also our two "best prospects" from a couple years ago are both in Carolina right now, in Pogge and Tlusty. We got a 6th for Pogge, and Paradis (former first from last year) for Tlusty.

  7. TimTheBone says:

I honestly dont get either of your logics.. i get trying to stick up for the habs.. thats cool… but D'Ags was never a "top" prospect, not the way McDonagh was, or the way Pacioretty was, or the way Weber was, well you get my point… D'ags was never more than a good prospect!…. and if any media outlet said otherwise, they're dumb. Also Coliacovo sucked…. i hated that guy when he played for the WJHC team….. Steen never impressed either…..and Stempniak was rather average when he was brought in as well…. he just was heralded as a bit more than he should have… high expectations arent a great thing to hang on someone… it doesnt always pan out….Pogge was just part of a great team…. he's like a jeff glass…. good goaltender but prob not at the NHL level… time will tell….

D'ags is no loss at all…

The Tlusty deal looks to be terrible, Paradis isn't even a point per game player in the Q (the most offensive junior league).  I don't know what Burke was thinking on that one.  What was Tlusty's waiver status?

I know D'Agostini couldn't be sent down without having to clear so this ended up being a dump of a guy who is an RFA that needed to clear waivers for a guy in the first year of his entry deal.  So 3 years younger, cap space and a Hamilton player for the next 2 seasons instead of a guy riding the pine pony in Montreal.  That is what makes the deal look good.

That one was good, but I liked the one about the Calgary trade.

"We also get Keith Aulie, big defenceman six foot six kid there, he looks like a f'ing wookie on skates."

    Priceless

  10. leafy says:

Yea that was great too. Burke's tough exterior is perfect for this type of humor.

  11. RealisticNick says:

How did you find those?  That guys page gets a bookmark and some facebook links for sure.

  12. leafy says:

Bbruins37 posted the link to that guy's main page. I've seen all the good clips at least 20 times.

  13. mojo19 says:

    true.

Paradis I guess cuz he's tough or something? "Burke type player". But ya, I think Tlusty was worth more than that guy… I guess we'll see. Good chance that Paradis never makes the team.
