Boucher Re-signed for 3 years

According to TSN.ca, Philippe Boucher was re-signed today to a 3-year contract extension, at $2.5 million a year.Boucher makes $1.82 million this year, giving him a raise of about $700,000. This is a great deal by the Stars and Boucher. He is the Stars second best defenseman, and has 12 goals and 19 assists this year, to go along with a plus/minus of +22. He is great on the powerplay along with his buddy Zubov. Hard-worker and and all-around great defenseman.

Scratch him off this summer’s list of highly sought after free agents.

The only prominent free agent for the Stars this summer is Arnott, who may or not be re-signed. But there is a good chance he will be, since Boucher didn’t garner much of a raise. Dallas might not be able to land any high-profile free agents, maybe only gritty, role-players.

    Great signing indeed.

i’m sure he could have got more than that through free agency.

I guess he really wanted to stay in Dallas…

Wow, well done. $2.5 mil is a steal for a player like Boucher.

    Sweet move by Army.

I’m not sure whether or not we should keep Arnott. Perhaps we could add to our Team Finland by going after Jokinen? lol

And when oh when will the Bill Guerin Experience end? He should not have been a Star this season!
