Brodeur Very Good. NOT GREAT

Alright Alright. Before I get slammed into the ground by a bunch of unhappy devil and Brodeur fans hear me out.

Brodeur is a very very good goalie. He’s up there on the list. But the guy is just not as great as he is made out to be. On any other team he would not have as many shutouts as he does in his carrier and that is not even a question.

Bottom line is, his team made him what he is, and gave him the so-called title of “Greatest Goalie.”
The truth is Brodeur is on the most Defensive team in NHL history. The team plays Defense 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. This team plays the most boring slowest game of hockey you have ever seen. Even in the playoffs they can’t sell out a finals game unless it’s filled by tones of fans from the other team.

Now no hating on the Defense cause that’s what wins championships… but, to say Brodeur would have been as “great” as he is if he was on any other team is a joke. He is a very good goalie… he makes big saves… but most very good goalies do.

Hasek is among the Greats, Roy among the greats.. they changed the game of goalies in hockey. But to say Brodeur has done anything different but wine like a child and hit his wife is nuts. The guy faces 15 shots a night most nights, and the Defense 1st, 2nd, and 3rd devils slow the game down so much.. that it can’t be hard to get as many shutouts as he has had throughout his career.

It’s just the truth that you can’t say this guy would dominate on any team the way he does on this team. To have people say he is one of the greatest of all time, maybe the greatest is kind of sad.

Brodeur cry’s when he gets bumped but spears players in front of him without penalty’s. He is given to much respect and when you watch a player like Jagr get smacked around and no calls are made you have to wonder what is going on. Jagr doesn’t yap as much as Brodeur flaps his mouth all over the ice at the refs. Brodeur gets his way all the time then crys to officals and front office people. He’s a little girl and needs to pull his skirt back up when he is unhappy about something.

I would love to see a day when Brodeur plays someplace else, but that will never happen…. all I would love to see is my point be proven. He’s very good.. just not great.
