much needed help it would be.

but,  the bruins would need to sign him before they shell away their young prospects.

  2. muckies says:

The Bruins are going to go for it this year, they should and they are a big and scary team.

Just from watching them I think guys like Cole who muck it up in front of the net and play with tons of ego and attitude would be a great addition.

To Edmonton: Marko Sturm 3.5 mil
                        Vladamir Sobotka
To Boston:     Eric Cole 4 Mil

I hate the Bruins as I am an habs fan but they are having a hell of a season and a trade might brake the chemistry Julien work so hard to established and Cole is the last thing they need, an injury prone player, The bruins will be fine up front with guys like Bergeron, Savard, Kessel, Sturm, Lucic ect.., Maybe they should make a trade for another big stay at home defenseman! which would help them more than getting an underachieving forward.

  6. hockeyhead says:

sturm is worth more than cole alone.

sturm is out for the entire season people.

  7. RossCreek says:

Sturm is out with an injury. That’s the whole point of getting Cole or someone like him.

Sorry about the triple post. Computer tripped out and froze up.

Who's better or is there much difference – Lashoff or Hunwick? Hearing one of those 2 and Sobotka for Cole (maybe Cole & Schremp). To me, the Bruins definately could use a player like Cole. Bill Guerin would probably be my 1st choice. For any team looking for that type of player. Therefore he'll probably cost the most. Keith Tkachuk would be another. The latter 2 are from the BeanTown area, so… However, Cole will prob have the cheapest asking price of the 3, IMO. B's need a forward of that skill-set and a top 4 d-man like Leopold, so I like those moves. Their D may be okay now, but in the playoffs, you need 8 or 9 guys that can play, as injuries are always a factor.

  12. Tachmo says:

I like the idea of bringing in Cole. They could stand to give up Lashoff and Sobotka. Both players are capable NHL players and are improving every game. Lashoff could be really good. However Boston has the cupboard stocked and can give up a couple guys like this to add Cole. Cole is severly underachieving this season, but maybe a trade will spark him. He seems like a guy you want in the playoffs. A hard nosed winger that drives to the net hard. Plus he has been to the Stanley Cup finals twice. That experience would be good to have in the dressing room. I really like this by bringing him in to Boston because each line now has a power forward. Lucic on the 1st line, Wheeler on the Krejci line and Cole to play with Bergeron.

  13. FrankTheTank3388 says:

I'd really hate to see Sobotka go, especially for somebody underachieving like Cole. He's basically a big guy trapped in a little guy's body anyway. I haven't seen much of Lashoff, but what I have seen has been rather sloppy so I wouldn't mind to see him go, but still, we don't have that many young d-men in the ranks that are going to be really good in the future. I doubt we'll resign Chara after his contract at the end of next season, we have to consider that when trading away good young talent.

  14. jeff_friesen_wpg_jet says:

That is why Cole is worth more than Sturm. Boston isn't willing to give up any key assets of their current team, so a player out for the season isn't worth much.

  15. FrankTheTank3388 says:

But Sturm is still signed for two more years and he was a great wing along side Bergeron. Just because somebody's injured doesn't mean their value drops so much that Cole is worth more. Hell, who knows if Cole will fit on any of the lines the Bruins roll? The Bruins have a lot of young prospects coming up, they can trade one without losing much sleep over it, but to trade one of your better scorers is just unnecessary, especially for somebody who's been underachieving like Cole.

  16. hockeyhead says:

imagine how good boston would be if sturm was playing all year.

    when they had the lines.

    luc-savy-kes    wheels-krej-ryde  axe-bergie-sturm  kobs-yelle-thorn

    they were unstoppable.

that was for about a game.

  17. futurebruin says:

the bruins should only offer up something small, like a draft pick and/or peter schaeffer or peterri nokelainen…erik cole isnt living up to the expectations over in edmonton, but perhaps if the bruins manage to swing this beantown would refresh him
