Bure to New Jersey?

No….not Pavel Bure, Valeri Bure. The Devils didn’t show much in their season opener, and their offense had little to do with their win. When the Devils traded three prospects for often injured Zyuzin, Zyuzin didn’t show enough to crack the Devils defensive pairs, or Tampa Bay’s as well.

The NYPost, such a ‘reliable’ source, reports that the Devils could trade Zyuzin to the Panthers in return for Valeri Bure. Though I hardly believe it is true, Panthers have too many defensemen, it could go through.

I don’t think there’s anything to this, just the Post being the Post.

Zyuzin still has a great upside, he’s not the type of player to give up on just yet. While the Devils have the greatest depth on the blueline of any team in the east, I don’t see Liamorello giving away a player he absolutely stole from the Lightning.

Valeri Bure? C’mon, he is not what the Devils need. He’s been inconsistent his entire career and gets more press because of his surname rather than his play. If he’s chafing under Mike Keenan, what makes you think he won’t do the same under Pat Burns?

This doesn’t make enough sense. Won’t happen.

I highly disagree Zyuzin was a stolen player from the Bolts. The guy couldn’t even make the Bolts roster, and when he was acquired by the Devs, after a couple of games or so he was sent down to the River Rats for “conditioning”. The guy is a bust. He is a 5th ot 6th d-man at best who could pinch in for some offense. He is too injury prone as well.

I said i doubt this will happen, but the Devils do need a proven offensive player. Most of their forwards are inconsistent scorers. If it does happen, i think Valeri could revive his career in Jersey….but i am not too sure about that either. If anything, i think Tvedovsky could steal Neidermeyer’s spot and making Soctt expandable for a great forward.

First off the author of this rumor is none other than Mark Everson or Neverson as he is refered to in the Swamp.

He has not been right about anything in covering the Devils in over three years (eg He reported a rumor the Devils were going to release Danekyo on waivers two weeks ago and it was never a consideration).

Zyzuin has a tremendous upside, he has had Larry Robinson as his mentor this offseason. Robinson was responsible for turning around Vlad Malakov and Sean O’donnel as defensemen the past few years.

Zyzyuin was the best Devils defensemen in the pre-season and Lou is hoping to garner alot for him. Regardless of the Bure connectin to the Devils, he is not the player we need.

More than likely Zyzuin will be headed to Ottawa. It is just a matter of picking Mucklers pockets for the right player.

Anyone can be the team’s best player in the pre-season and be a nobody in the regular season.

You’re overrating Zyuzin, he couldn’t even make the Bolts roster. I think the Oilers could try to get him since they are looking for a d-man.

  7. Tradedude says:

who is this is zyuzin guy? if panthers have lots of defense, why add another, just doesnt make any sense

  8. pantherboy says:

Man, people are making this as a bad trade for NJ! This would be horrible for Florida if they gave up Val for another D-man. We have enough, we need scoring, and right now, val is the best we got.

  9. wayne2 says:

Bure to Chicago for Mark Bell(he is more of a Keenan kind of player)Bure is not Burns`s type of player.

Congratulations: You ignorance is in full bloom early this season.

Did you even read my post?

With a year under Robinson’s mentorship Zyzuin could become one of the top d-men in the game. It showed in pre-season how much improved he has become.

He has the tools and the talent, but needs to understand the nuiances of the position.

In seasons past too much was expected of him and he forced too many mistakes in bad systems on bad teams.

He will learn alot under Robinson and also the wisdom of Stevens, and Niedermayer.

He will benefit by playing in the Devils system and I would hate to trade him now.

It could come back to haunt the Devils.

You don’t even know the definition of ignorance…

I did, and it was all guess work…

…there was nothing much to it.
