Burke's team

While GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brian Burke has acquired May, and hired Dave Nonis as assistant GM.
This tells you that Brian likes certain players, and likes to get players he’s had before. This would mean very little, if not for the fact that the Anaheim Ducks will have 13 unrestricted free agents on July 1, 2009.
Brendan Morrison, Todd Marchant, Rob Niedermayer, Sami Pahlsson, Travis Moen, George Parros, Brad Larson, Scott Niedermayer, Francois Beauchemin, Bret Hedican, Steve Montador, and Kent Huskins are all poised to become unrestricted Free agents July 1.
The Ducks also have 35.8 million in cap space already committed to just 12 players for next season.
The Leafs have 37.5 million in cap space committed to 18 players for next season (and some of that will likely be traded prior to March 4 and at the draft).
I would not be surprised to see as many as 3 of those players wearing blue and white in 09-10, but we’ll have to wait and see.
