team leading 59 points. Can someone help me out with this piece of trivia. I know the lowest point total to lead an NHL team was by Paul Yzebert with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the early 90’s. How many points did he get?

WOW! As a Habs fan I am glad Bob Gainey signed Ryder before his arbitration hearing. Ryder would have easily been awarded 3-4 million the way arbitration is going this year.

That is a very good point.

Paul Ysebaert in 1997-98 had 13g 27a for 40 points in 82 games, leading the Lightning that year.

That year they had Renberg, Richer, Zamuner, Langkow, Tucker, McCarthy and Dino Ciccarelli.

    40 points in 97-98 – 13 goals and 27 assists in 82 games.

Yup, at this price it does sound like Ribeiro and Ryder came cheap…

Calder was already awarded, to Alexander Ovechkin 🙂

Calder for sure deserved a raise, but more like 2-2.5 million. My guess is that he may be moved in the coming days/weeks! Would love to see him stay in Chicago though, good player, and a nice guy!

What are the arbitrators thinking? Almost 3 mil for this guy, are they crazy?? Way too much money. Nice guy or not, less than 60 points aint worth 3 million.

  11. Francis10 says:

59 points in the new NHL isn’t worth 3 mil…..

My theory is that all the referees are lazy!

They know they have a big year this year, so they give big money to everybody, so no team will want to go to arbitration next year, giving the referees a work-free summer!!!

    Damn I’m brilliant!

What the hell? Are you drunk?

  14. Habs_no1_fan says:

    It’s called a joke dude…

I would have guessed that a guy who wants domi as prime minister would know what that means!!!

Didn’t we just have a lockout due to these outrageous contracts. If Calder is awarded that, then the NHL will be *****ed again in another couple of years. Aren’t people going to learn from their mistakes ?
