NHL GMs feel they could've given Flames more for Phaneuf By ERIC FRANCIS
While both the Maple Leafs and the Flames accomplished plenty in the seven-player trade involving Dion Phaneuf last week, obviously not every-one's happy about it.
Phaneuf Run out of town?
The Toronto Sun is reporting A candid Olli Jokinen suggests Dion Phaneuf may have been railroaded out of Calgary because of the loathing of disgruntled Flames supporters.
Another deal on the Flames' horizon?
By RANDY SPORTAK, QMI Agency
Flames GM Darryl Sutter has made a couple of trades which make it appear another deal is soon coming.
He’d better be.
Six new faces via trade, and a seventh if you count Mikael Backlund being summoned from the minors just over a week ago, has added up to big changes on the roster, but it’s not enough to seriously call this club a Stanley Cup contender.

Sutter Under fire - Flames a mess
Mike Brophy
When the NHL trade deadline arrives March 3, there will be no GM under greater pressure to make significant changes to his team than Calgary's Darryl Sutter.
Frankly speaking, his team is a mess. It looks much more like a club that was built for pre-lockout hockey rather than being able to compete in what has now become a very highly-skilled Western Conference. Take a look at the teams competing for the conference title - Chicago, San Jose, and to a lesser degree Detroit and Vancouver - they are all built around skill.
Not so for the Flames.
Changes coming after trouncing in San Jose
John Down
Jed Ortmeyer got his first goal in 28 games, Scott Nichol his first in 27, Rob Blake his first in 17, Manny Malhotra in 12 . . .
And on it went for the San Jose Sharks on Monday night as they fattened up on the Calgary Flames while setting a franchise record of having eight different players score during that 9-1 victory.
This was the sort of breakout game the Flames had hoped for, a game where players like Nigel Dawes, Eric Nystrom, Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow would break out of prolonged goal-scoring slumps.
