What the hell do you think a UFA is going to cost? That's a better package than Kovy got in my opinion and its certainly better than Hossa. If New Jersey keeps the "no talks" with Parise going they might lose him for nothing.

Getting a future top Powerplay PMD in Voynov (whose actually been great this year in his first year) plus a potential Brodeur replacement in Bernier is pretty damn good in my opinion. Plus a third line center to play behind Zajac and Henrique? It's a pretty good deal for a guy that is looking like he's going to leave

I usually don't mind Lafleur, it's just when he tells us what we're suppose to think as leafs fans that I get annoyed.

Ha ha ha, I had to read that a few times to see if I could detect sarcasm. Hahaha, I don't see how they could get a single 1st for what they have to sell.

Kostitsyn is the only one that might fetch close to a 1st, and that is pretty unlikely. Cammy? No on wants that contract for a seemingly ever declining player. Gill? HA HA AHA HA HA HA HA AH AH A. I'd send a low 2nd at the very most for the jolly giant, and he's a player I really like.

Subs would bring in a first, Price would bring in a first +, and Pleks might as well, everyone else?: no chance.. well, unless someone lets Sutter make trades again. #ThanksCalgary

Meh, call it leaf bias, but I'd take Kessel before Giroux in a fantasy draft. He's done about the same as Giroux with much less.

On the Subban issue, yes he is good, very flashy and all, but not consistent and can be pretty sloppy defensively (which is, ya know, bad for a defenceman). I'd love to have P.K. on my team, but he's no generational talent, at least not yet (I think he could go either way at this point). Goals by the D are all fine and great, but I'd rather invest in a stay at home hitting D-man than a flashy shooter and rely on my forwards to do the scoring.

Habs should keep Pleks, Price, Subs, maybe Weber and Eller, and sell sell sell. The only problem is that the majority of what they have to sell no one wants.

Again, sorry to get into it, but a few post above you said that you believe him to be a generational talent based on the Chelios comparisons. Seriously, a comparison make him a generational talent? L. Schenn was often compared to Adam foot, does that make him as good as Adam Foote?

Sorry guys, but Parise isn't going that cheep. Unless Sutter is hired in NJ, they won't be sending Parise away for a bag of pucks and some spare engine parts. As long as they're in the race they can't justify shipping him out. Plus, the Kovalchuk contract means that they can't afford a major rebuild, they have to try to improve the group around him.

If Parise goes and Brodeur retires that franchise is in serious trouble (not that Brodeur has been great, but still).

No chance they get Yakupov. They Lottery has gone to the last overall every time since being instituted. No team would trade that pick down. Finally, Columbus looks like the last overall right now, but the Ducks could easily take that honour if they trade away anyone on their top line. Like I said, it seems silly to say, but Habs fans should be cheering for their team to lose if they want to improve in the long term.

If I live in MTL the LAST thing I'm worried about is the language being spoken within the organization... way to many more pressing problems.

Gautier has ***** this franchise so thoroughly. He's let talent walk, overpaid crap players, failed to either send players down or make significant trades, and set himself up the have trouble resigning the likes of Price, Subban, and co.

Also, top 5 pick, maybe, but the Habs have virtually no chance to grab Yakupov outside of trading up. On that note, what team would trade away the 1st overall? The draft lottery has always gone to the last overall (read: NYI or Anaheim).

You're right about the hatchet man, HABSSTAR, though to say, but I think every win hurts the team's future. They need to shed salary and anyone that isn't young enough to fit into the 3-5 year rebuild. They need a GM with free range and balls. Send down the obvious contracts and any other big ones that don't get traded. Hamarlik is a joke, Gionta and Gomez need to go, and Cammaleri is looking worse and worse. Cole and Kaberle may fit into the long term, but there are some pretty big ???s around them.

If any GM wanted to totally F*CK this franchise all they would have to do is offer sheet price for more than the Canadiens can afford. They either lose their best player (unlikely) or, once again, overpay. To a lesser extent, same goes for Subbs.
