Canadiens Contemplating Moves??

The Montreal Canadies are 6-8-1 in their last 15 Games and the warning bells appear to be ringing. According to various reports, Canadiens GM Bob Gainey’s telephone bill is on the rise and he is believed to be working on a trade or two in hopes of waking his team up.

The Chicago Daily News and the Chicago Sun-Times report the Blackhawks are talking with the Canadiens about a deal that could involve defenceman Adrian Aucoin and centre Bryan Smolinski. Life time Hab Craig Rivet and underachieving winger Sergei Samsonvo are believed to be heading the other way. Speculation also suggest the Canadiens are eying Ladislav Nagy and Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes, as well as Todd Bertuzzi and Joseph Stumpel of the Florida Panthers.
