What are the Canucks going to do about Booth?

Canuck GM Mike Gillis made his weekly appearance on the club’s flagship radio station TEAM 1040 Thursday morning and had this to stay when asked about  benched $4.25 million winger David Booth:

You have to make tough decisions at times to get people re-focused and playing the way you want them to play. David is a very good player who’s had a series of injuries and we need him to play harder and play with more tenacity on the puck and we can’t afford to have him trying to learn that while we’re playing games that we need to win. So he’ll be back in the lineup when he’s prepared to play the way the coaches want him to play and make the same sort of effort everyone else is making.”

Asked if Booth might be sent to the minors again, Gillis replied: “Maybe. That’s going to be up to David. He’s had a lot of meetings with the coaches, a lot of philosophical meetings about where he’s at and what he needs to do.
