Canucks to go UFA shopping, Next Year

The Vancouver Province is reporting that it is highly unlikely that the Vancouver Canucks will land any big-name free agents this year. All bets are off for next year however as they will have cap space available to shop for some of the huge names that may be available.Presently the Canucks are sitting in a position where they will be pushed really hard against the cap once again. They have “14 players signed at a cost of 41 million” and have 13 others to make decisions on including Lindren, Bulis and Cowan.

Some of the big names that will be available next summer could include Iginla and Heatley. The Vancouver Province points out the fact that Heatley already owns a house in British Columbia’s interior which could make Vancouver a candidate.
