Carolina looking to move Jeff Hamilton

The News and Observer provides some interesting speculation with regards to the Hurricanes.

At the end of last week the Hurricanes placed Jeff Hamilton on waivers with the intent that another team would pick him up. Because a team did not pick him up the Hurricanes are forced with a decision. They do not want to send him down to the minors because when he is called up he will have to clear re-entry waivers, which he will not do and then the team will have to pay half of his salary for the balance of this season and next season as well.

It is speculated that the Hurricanes may look to deal Hamilton, but to deal him the likelihood is that the hurricanes will have to take an overpriced veteran play in return. Possible names include Sergei Fedorov or Paul Mara. It should be mentioned that hose two names are only speculation and there is actually no basis attached to those possible players.
