Carter wants to leave Columbus already

Forward of the Columbus Blue Jackets Jeff Carter would have already asked to be traded.

The Blue Jackets have acquired the services of Carter of the Philadelphia Flyers in the month of June, giving back Jakub Voracek and two draft picks. Les Flyers avaient ensuite sélectionné Sean Couturier et Nick Cousins. The Flyers were then selected Sean Couturier and Nick Cousins.

Carter garnered only three assists in just seven games with his new team after being bothered by an injured foot.

His agent has come out and said it's just a rumor.

  2. JoelLeafs says:

Yeah, seems pretty early for him to want out. Team isn;t healthy and he's barley played. Overreaction by the media, as usual.

  3. TheLeafNation91 says:

Apparently he did not want to be their in the first place. Columbus, from what I know, is not that bad of a city.

This team still has potential, I think a high draft pick and a revamp of their defence could really help.

I think they should trade one of Umberger or Vermette.

  4. alpalstewart says:

i think they should throw nash's name out with a asking price of a roster player, prospect and two 1st's

    to clb.  JVR,gustafsson and 2 1sts
    to phi. Nash
  5. JoelLeafs says:

Okay, so off topic but I'm looking fro some opinions on a trade.

I've got Lethonen in my pool and have offered a trade for Crawford straight-up. The other party has accepted and I simply need to confirm the trade. My reasoning is that I don't believe Dallas can keep up their pace (they have actually slowed in recent days) and therefore Kari's numbers can't keep up.
I feel that Chicago is a better team and will produce more wins in the long term. Only problem is that Crawfords numbers are a bit worse presently. Breaks down like this:
    GP W L OT GA GAA  S% – Crawford
    16  9  5 2  45 2.76 .904 0
    GP W L OT GA GAA  S% – Lethonen
    15 11 4 0  37 2.44 .928 0
The biggest freight for me is the Save percentage.
What do you guys think? Good move?
  6. TheLeafNation91 says:

    Would you guys do?

Interesting, could backfire, but this team looks 8th-10th in the East and we do have one of the best prospect pools in the league.

  8. TheLeafNation91 says:

I think Carter could benefit from Toronto, Lupul and Kessel do the majority of scoring so he will be the third-guy in…Where he usually was the most dangerous in Philly?

  9. zeddyp101 says:

why would they ever give up so much for Nash when JVR is playing better then nash this year…Philly's GM has a brain…he isnt brian burke

  10. LeafsNation4Ever says:

Alright, you're implying Burke doesn't have a brain. I know you've hit your head when you were born now.

  11. zeddyp101 says:

Leafism: Noun – The overrating of ones' own players

  12. JoelLeafs says:

    Ha ha. The Phaneuf trade.

  13. JoelLeafs says:

You don't know much about suffixes, do you?

Or etymology in general, it seems.
  14. JoelLeafs says:

Are you the only other person left on this site? Geeze.

  15. zeddyp101 says:

*narrator* said the hopeless leaf fan living in this fairy tale his whole life 🙂

  16. mapleleafsfan says:

I'd do it. I think you're right, Lehtonen and the stars will come down to earth a bit. He'll probably still have a higher save % but the other numbers I can't see him beating crawford on.

  17. reinjosh says:

    Ima guess no lol.

    Sidepoint – I think I found my new bbruins…
  18. reinjosh says:

Ah good old trolls. They still don't realize that constantly mentioning the Leafs in their attempts to bring us down actually confirms our devotion to the Leafs.

  19. reinjosh says:

I'm not really a fan of the guy. At all. Just rather not have him on the team. Your deal was probably good value but I don't think I'd do it.

  20. JoelLeafs says:

Yeah, it's like a hybrid between a troll and a regular poster.

  21. zeddyp101 says:

lololololol who the fack is questioning your devotion?

leaf fans devotion borderlines on insanity crossed with stupidity

  22. JoelLeafs says:

I hear you trolls have warts on yo' d!cks.

    That true?
  23. JoelLeafs says:

Cheery kills me. Grapes to McLean: "caveat, what's that mean?" … then he goes off on a tangent. Ha!

  24. reinjosh says:

Seems to lack simple reading skills as well.

You don't get it do you?
  25. TheOnlyIslesFan says:

he kinda has a point in that Howson has his ass on thin ice as we speak if he trades Carter for MacArthur and Franson he's toast.

  26. reinjosh says:

Oh I agree. Then again I'm pretty sure its just a matter of time anyways.

  27. lafleur10 says:

it is an interesting offer however other teams would and could offer more for carter,on any other team he's a big #1 center that can score you 30-35 goals and make you a stanley cup contender so teams that see this  will offer more than that it's not a bad offer from your leafs but just not enough to land carter!

  28. TheLeafNation91 says:

Don't forget it only took a 1st and Voracek to get him out of Philly.

I based his value off that trade. A support player, a 1st rounder, and I added another young defencemen since they seem to have always lacked in that position and we have tons (whose apparently worth a second and a player???)

Teams could offer more, but most likely our 1st will be lower and I don't any other teams that are willing to surrender one of their cheaper top-six players.

  29. Boston_Bruins says:

I like your reasoning, although Lehtonen will definitely beat him in save %. As it looks like a one-sided trade based on the stats right now, see if you can milk them for more.

  30. Tachmo says:

I think the Leafs could have had Carter for Kulemin in the offseason. Or Richards for Kulemin. I think there was another leaf going the other way but I can't remember.

  31. TheLeafNation91 says:

It was apparently Kulemin and Kadri for Richards, but then LA upped tha anti and he went to the Kings.

    I based my deal:

…On the Voracek and 1st deal for Carter that occured during the summer. So, I put a 1st with a top-six forward on the Leafs and a young defencemen in Franson (whose apparently worth a second and player) for Carter. i think its fair value.

  32. lafleur10 says:

well we could we could offer a.kostitsyn,j.tinordi,d.desharnais for carter

  33. TheLeafNation91 says:

Our offer is still better then that though?

    Ask anyone.

  34. TheLeafNation91 says:

And what i mean are non biased fans…So no Leaf fans or Habs fans.

  35. thisgamewelose says:

Because Nash is a better player. If you add Nash to Philly, he's going to perform better.

  36. mojo19 says:

Let's just say that Jarred Tinordi is about equal to a 1st round pick in terms of value. And that Kostitsyn and MacArthur would be similar value as well, based on their offensive output, age and cap hits all being really similar.

Desharnais is 25. He's played 70 career NHL games and earned 35 points. He is what he is. He's not an equivalent of Cody Franson, in terms of value.

Do you care to disagree Lafleur?

  37. TheOnlyIslesFan says:

Both trades are about equal really, difference is Andrei K is a UFA at the end of the year, McArthur is signed.

I'd rather have Tinordi over the pick that Burke might not even trade.
Desharnais could be a setup guy for Nash..
On the other hand – in the past the habs have never traded for a big player who can score 30-35 goals, they usually trade away big players who can score 50+ a season.
