Columbus Interested in Murray ??

The Ottawa Senators would not be the only option for head coach Bryan Murray. Two sources indicated to the Ottawa Sun that the Columbus Blue Jackets would like to obtain the permission to discuss with Murray about the general manager opening for the team.

It would be however astonishing that the Senators would grant such a permission.

President, Roy Mlakar, and general manager, John Muckler however were clear, they want the 64 year old man’s return to the bar of the team next season.

If Murray, the former general manager of the Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings and the Anaheim Ducks, is really in the cards of the Blue Jackets, that could put pressure on Senators owner, Eugene Melnyk.

Murray will be a free agent July 1st. Columbus was about to hire Bob Murray, assistant General Manager of the Anaheim Ducks last week, but it would have changed their minds into realizing that he would not be the only person in charge since head-coach Ken Hitch***** is already under contract.

On Friday, John H. McConnell, owner of The Columbus Blue Jackets, met with Scott Howson, assistant General manager of the Edmonton Oilers. The team also obtained the permission to discuss with assistant Generel Manager of The Dallas Stars, Les Jackson.

Dave King, former head-coach of the Calgary Flames is also on their list, but who hasn’t. Their list seems to grow by the day.

Just keeping you hardcore hockey fans, such as myself up to date.
