Concerned Habs Fan

Its sad to say, but the Montreal Canadiens playoff hopes for 2007 are all but history. Samsonov and Kovalev have to go, no doubt about it. Samsonov hasn’t done a thing since signing during the summer. And kovalev, he has the potential to be where Sidney Crosby is right now, but his laziness and need for dangling have prevented him from doing so. Also, Ryder must go south. I’m from Newfoundland and absolutely love Michael Ryder, but he’s is lacking numbers this season. A change is definately necessary. And yes, the Montreal Canadiens need to rebuild, its not a question of numbers, anyone can rack up numbers, but when was the last good season the Habs had? 1993? Yes. Who was the last superstar they had? Patrick Roy? Yes, and that was what, 10, 11 years ago? The Habs need to get some stars. They are definitely going to start dumping/adding during the off-season. If not, they’ll be in serious trouble.

Also, please do not blame Bob Gainey. This guy is going through a really tough time and if you ask me, he’s doing a hell of a better job than what I would do if I were in his shoes. And Guy Carbonneau, who can blame the guy. Montreal is a hard market place to coach, and if you have no players, what can you do?

I heard that Sheldon Souray wants out to Los Angeles, maybe they can get something for him.
