TSN reports that the Buffalo Sabres have signed Tim Connolly to a 3-year, 8.9 million dollar contract.
Seems a bit much for a guy with too much injury history.
It looks like Buffalo is retaining most of its players.
I’ll be interested to see whether or not they trade Afinogenov.
we’ll see how many they retain once Afiniganov and Miller get contracts
Yeah, a bit much for one stand out year a few ho hum years.
If Buffalo can manage to keep all these contracts coming at them they will do well indeed.
They stand at 34.7 millions (but that include Martin Biron) right now with that signing and they have a couple of player to sign.
– Maxim Afinogenov
– JP Dumont
– Adam Mair
– Dmitri Kalinin
– Jeff Jillson
– Ryan Miller
First, i don’t think the Sabres will be at the maximum salary allowed by the cap, they worked last year through a self-imposed caps and they were not afraid to let go player like Satan and Zhitnik. I think this will be the same this year. I’ll be surprised if they didn’t dump 3-4 guys for prospect or guys already under contract who are not earning big bucks.
Isn’t that WAY to much money for a guy who was last seen on the ice totally knocked out? He’s a great player, wish him the best, but Im thinking over 3 years he’ll get injured, badly, and the return on that 8 million won’t be considered a good investment.
The contract is worth 8.7 million not 8.9
